program allows people to explore the world with the University of Utah faculty who are experts at bringing local and international destinations to life.
Professor Tim Slover with the Department of Theater leads the Theater Onstage programs and is here to tell us more.
Hi, Tim.
- Hi.
- Thank you for being back.
Okay.
- It's nice to be back.
- You've got thirty trips to London -- theater trips -- coming up?
- We do.
- Oh, and they look pretty amazing.
- Yeah.
Yeah.
The first two are the London Onstage trips that we do.
Only this time we're doing one around December also 'cause I've always wanted to take people to London during the Christmas season, not actual Christmas.
- [Mary] Yeah.
- 'Cause people need to get back under their own tree.
But that one is all about Christmas in London which is it's Dickens country, right?
So it's amazing.
- Oh yeah.
- The October one, which is the one coming up now, which we've got completely, we know exactly what we're doing, we know all the plays, we know everything.
I'm very, very excited about taking people on the October one.
- Oh, that's so great.
And how many days is it?
- Oh, it's 10 days.
See, anyone can get away for 10 days, we feel.
- Yeah.
- It's the idea, right?
And we work with a hotel called The Rockwell that we've been working with for years.
They love us.
We don't steal their TVs.
(Mary laughing) And they treat us really well.
It's a beautiful hotel right in South Kensington.
And we go to plays and we go to art exhibitions.
We have an art expert that goes with us who teaches here as well.
And it's just a good time.
- Wow.
And when do people have to sign up by?
- Both the October program and the December program are open now.
So, if you go to the Go Learn!
Continuing Education Go Learn!
website, there they are.
- And you can sign up.
And it's actually a reasonable cost too.
- We've checked it out.
This is not the royal we, by the way, I work with a wonderful colleague and friend named Jane England, and Jane does all the logistics.
And so we've checked out how much it costs if you were to do the same thing we do on your own and it would be double.
- All right.
Well, it's a bargain, so.
- I mean- - Yeah.
- London's not cheap, but this is as cheap as you can do what we do.
- Great.
Well, thanks so much for being here.
Thanks.
- Yeah.
- And if you'd like to know more about that upcoming Go Learn!
trip, the trips to London, go to continue.utah.edu/golearn.
