The Senate is also set to consider a bill that would claw back more than $9 billion in spending that's already been approved.
The so-called rescission package passed to the full House this afternoon.
It calls for making cuts recommended by Doe's permanent, including cuts to USAID and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which helps fund KETV.
All five Republicans in Kentucky's federal delegation voted in favor of the bill on social media.
Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky's fourth district said, quote, 9 billion won't solve all our budget problems, but it's an incredible start.
Let's cut more.
Congressman Andy Barr of Kentucky's sixth district said in part, quote, my message to Doge is simple keep the cuts coming.
And Congressman Hal Rogers of Kentucky's fifth district said, quote, this package is all about pulling back taxpayer dollars that have been spent on things like net zero cities in Mexico, electric busses in Rwanda, sexual reproductive health in Venezuela, and featured stories on NPR about topics like queer animals.
Katie's executive director, Shay Hopkins, is also reacting to today's vote.
Quote, we are extremely disappointed by today's vote in the House to eliminate federal funding for public broadcasting, as the loss of this funding will substantially diminish all of its programs and services.
We know the more than 2 million people who watch and use Katie each week value our nearly 60 years of dedication and service to the Commonwealth.
