(bright gentle music) (machinery beeping) - USHydrations is a contract manufacturer, so what that means is, we put the product together for brand owners.
If you're a brand owner, you send us your caps, your bottles, your labels, and your trays, and we put them together and get 'em ready for the grocery store.
Yeah, if you were to walk down the water aisle in any grocery store or any convenience store, and you looked at the waters on the shelf, guarantee you that we do four or five of the ones that you see.
All of our customers are global national brands.
When I first started, we had one line, we did primarily gallons, the big jugs that you see in the grocery stores.
Since then, we've transitioned into premium water category, PET bottles, your alkaline waters, your enhanced waters, flavored waters.
- Even though we are just making water, all of the waters have some sort of formulation to them, even just the plain waters.
They'll have salts and minerals and electrolytes that go into those, so our batching team are single-handedly responsible for batching all of those formularies.
(bright gentle music) - Basically what you do is you're taking city water and you're stripping it down and making it completely pure.
From that point, we can add the recipe that our customers want.
When it comes into our building, it goes through a process called reverse osmosis.
That's a series of membranes, and the water is sent through the membranes at high speed and it purifies the water to 99.8 or 99.9%.
All of our water is tested many times.
There are systems in place to make sure the cap is applied correctly.
- When you look out on our floor, I mean, we have state-of-the-art technology.
- The biggest change for us, really, is we've gone from starting with a full-blown bottle and working with that to working with preforms.
- Over the last five years, the organization picked up their first blow molding machine, so we now make all of our own bottles in-house.
- One truck of preforms is equal to over eight trucks of blown bottles.
It's good for the environment, good for the carbon footprint, good for storage, and it just speeds up everything, actually, it ends up making the products more affordable, as well.
- So our current equipment, we receive preforms.
This is a preform, we receive them by the millions.
These get dumped into a hopper and they get fed into an oven where they're heated to the correct temperature.
Then they go into a blow molder, and they go in upside down, and a stretch rod goes in and actually forms the mold like you would form a Jell-o mold almost.
And at 600 bottles a minute, it will come out as a full-blown bottle.
On a good day, we can do up to 2 million bottles from start to finish, produced, billed, packed, and shipped to our distribution centers.
We are one day's drive from over 120 million people.
We're really ideally located.
Most of our employees have grown up here, their fathers have worked here.
We're really invested in our employees, can't go anywhere without employees, so we're really focused on our employees' happiness.
We've gone from an area of about 50,000 square feet production-wise to now 240,000 square feet.
We've got some seasoned mechanics.
So someone had the idea of coming up with these electric trikes.
- USHydrations has a pretty big hand in the community.
The NASCAR races, we've sponsored a vehicle there and we've got the donation waters that we give to local events and shelters.
(bright gentle music) - I've seen the company grow exponentially from our first days here.
We've grown from 25 employees when I first started to about 116 full-time employees now.
We've gone from one location to now we've got four.
- There is no limit to what we're capable of doing.
