(gentle upbeat music) - Museums across the state of Utah are collaborating on the first Utah Museum Month that takes place in July.

And here to tell us more about what we can all look forward to is Ruth White.

Hi Ruth.

And there's a lot to look forward to.

I did not know that throughout this state we have 300 museums, garden zoos, everything else.

- Yes, and we have a wide variety.

There's all kinds of museums from natural history museums, art museums dinosaur museums, science museums, children's museums.

Something for everyone.

- Yeah, 300, and this is all statewide.

So tell us how Museum Month is working.

You want people to try and visit five wherever they live.

- Yes, so it's very easy to do.

Head over to our website and you'll download the Museum Passport which lists all of the museums by county.

And then you can either choose museums that are close to your home or museums that are in places that you may be traveling to this summer and then just go and visit them.

- That's great.

Okay, and is there a bonus or a prize if you find five in your area and go visit them all?

- Yes, if you visit at least five museums, you can send in for a collectible sticker that we've designed for this year.

Next year when we do Museum Month again, it will be a different sticker, so you can collect all of them.

And if you're taking all of your kids each one of them gets a sticker.

Don't be afraid that they won't have to fight over the stickers.

(ladies chuckling) And then also, if you tag us in social media we'll be doing a drawing for some additional prizes.

- Oh, that's great.

And I know on social media, speaking of, you are trying to put something up every day.

- Yeah, each day we will highlight a different museum and some of the things that they have in their collection or are doing in their programming.

Another way to find museums that you want to visit is the Utah Museum Directory, which is hosted by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums.

And it lists all of the museums, has their contact information, so you can check hours and things before you go.

- That is great.
