(upbeat music) - Utah Museum of Contemporary Arts Exhibition "In Memory" offers an in-depth and layered meditation on the many angles of what it means to remember.
And here with more details is Kaitlin Mills.
Hi Kaitlin, thank you so much for being here.
So, let's talk first about In Memory and then we'll talk about the Haitian exhibit that's going to be up as well.
- Of course, yeah.
So, In Memory, as you said, it deals with memory and remembering, as the name would suggest.
And it's a really fantastic exhibit that our executive director curated and it deals with complex themes of memory and the artist's attempt to remember and create, and the artist's attempt to remember and create, and interpret their own memories.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
- I always loved-- I had a friend who always said, "Memory is always part conjecture."
- Yes, exactly.
- I always liked that, yeah.
But I'll be very interested to see how they express that.
- Yeah.
And my favorite part about this exhibit in particular is that whether you are a contemporary art aficionado or you are completely brand new to the world of art, especially contemporary art, there is something for everybody in this exhibit.
It really is completely accessible, whatever your level of familiarity is.
- And then you have the other exhibit which is Haitian.
Which should be very interesting.
- So, what's exciting about our Haitian exhibit coming up is that is-- so it's all Haitian artists.
The exhibit opened in Haiti and then it went to Germany, and now we have the US premiere of this exhibit.
So, it's very exciting.
- That should really be something, I think.
Anyway, I'm so glad you're doing both of them, and thank you so much for coming to tell us.
- Thank you so much!
- And if you would like to know more about those two exhibitions at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, there's the In Memory Exhibition, and then the Haitian Artist Exhibition now through February 22nd.
