(bright music) - Spend a weekend in the Middle Ages at the 14th Annual Utah Renaissance Festival.

From full contact jousting to live entertainment, Richard Thurman and Mike Hamilton are here with a look at what you can expect at this year's festival, and they have dressed to the nines for us today.

- So tell me what people can expect at this year's festival.

- Thanks for asking, your ladyship.

We have something for the whole family and people of all ages.

We have three areas that we like to focus on, entertainment, education, and just fun with vendors of all sorts.

We have over 140 vendors this year.

- [Liz] Wow.

- We have entertainers who literally have entertained all around the world, including the 14th world champion full contact jouster, the Knights of Mayhem with Captain Charlie Andrews.

And with education, we have the House of Tudor with Queen Elizabeth, Henry VIII, William Shakespeare, Leonardo da Vinci, and they will be emphasizing the cultural heritage of the Renaissance era on our modern lives.

- And I love that there's that historical aspect of it as well, but I can't lie, I love the turkey legs, (chuckling) the giant turkey legs that people get to enjoy.

What do you think keeps people coming back year after year, Mike?

- I think just the phenomenal entertainment and the venue.

It is a beautiful place down there in Mona.

And the fact that there is so much history there from the Viking village to the entertainers on stage.

We run a magic show there at the main theater stage.

And in fact, if you enjoy magic like conjuring should be enjoyed... - [Liz] I love magic.

- We've got a little paper rose here.

(lighter clicking) If you watch closely.

(flame sizzling) - Whoa.

(flame roaring) Wow.

(Richard chuckling) Oh, thank you.
