Thank you so much for joining us today.

This is a momentous occasion for us, celebrating our 50th Varsity Band concert.

[audience cheers] The first concert was in March 1975 in Mills Concert Hall.

We've come a long way.

Now we're here at the concert-- at the Kohl Center, and we hope that you have a good time.

So, that first song is a UW Band classic.

"The Horse," it was a hit back in 1968.

And a special person took over the program in 1969.

So, my thinking is that we've probably been playing "The Horse" at least that long.

This next one is from one of the greatest musicals of all time.

Certainly within the last 25 years.

I'm talking about Wicked.

[audience members cheer] Oh, got some Wicked fans over here, yay!

The music of Stephen Schwartz brought to life by two powerhouse vocalists, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth.

And it was recently adapted into a couple of blockbuster movies starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

So, we did a musical tribute to the Greatest Generation in observance of Veterans Day.
