As we welcome you to Mack Tharpe Stadium in Moultrie for a huge region 170 showdown.
As the fifth ranked Valdosta Wildcats have come to town to take on the seventh ranked Colquitt County Packers.
And good evening, I'm Matt Stewart, joined by former Auburn Tigers All-American NFL first round draft pick in 15 year pro Wayne Gandy and Wayne.
This game is so big on so many levels.
Number one, the PSR.
This game is going to shape the playoff bracket in the.
Seven.
A classification region Championship.
Implications for Doe on down the road over the next four weeks.
And also it's a rivalry game going back to the Moultrie days.
This is the 111th meeting between these two programs.
And old rivalry next to the cemetery.
You know it's going to be a great game here tonight.
When you look at these two teams, one battle tested, the other one with an explosive offense, 56 points a game.
That's Valdosta.
They're averaging 56 points per game.
They are number one in seven a P I saw.
So you see why this game is so big.
And they're led by the dynamic duo of running back Darren Foster who's committed to Oregon State.
And Stanford commit Marquis who's also a running back slash wide receiver.
Yeah, we were talking about lightning and lightning.
When you're talking about these two young men, they're about the same size, have about the same skill set.
One has a great jump cut.
When you look at foster.
And then you just have a smart, heady, physical runner, just a dynamic duo, hard to stop.
Defensive side of the ball.
The Wildcats are led by A.J.
Hill.
He's committed to Kennesaw State.
Moved in from Thomasville.
He's got close to 250 career tackles.
Big time range and a guy that loves to play down in the box.
That's going to be key.
It's.
Coach just raves about his attitude and the tempo he brings.
He's going to have to have a huge game tonight.
Now the story for Colquitt County.
They're 5-2 overall.
Their two losses on the road.
The two of the best teams in the country Thomas County Central and Lee County.
And they're led by that little stick of dynamite at quarterback.
58, 155.
Kai Mitchell, who's averaging over 220 total yards per game.
A true dual threat.
Don't let the height fool you.
This young man brings it to the field.
15 total touchdowns.
When you look at what he can do out on the field, they count on him to scramble, make plays, extend plays and make the big play downfield.
Not only is he their leading passer, he's also their leading rusher on the defensive side of the ball.
They've got a big time safety too.
And Josh Alford a three star safety 17 offers on the season.
Team leading 50-7 total tackles.
He leads the team in tackles.
His speed is phenomenal.
At a 44, he can play down in the box and guess what?
That's going to get tested here tonight against Valdosta.
So it's Colquitt County and it's Valdosta.
Should we say get your popcorn ready.
I think we should.
This is going to be that kind of game.
Let's send it down to Jon Nelson.
Thank you very much, Matt.
Good evening.
Good evening to you and to all of you accessing us.
However you are doing so, maybe you need to get your barbecue ready.
Get the smokers ready.
That's the kind of night it is.
It is going to be a packed house here at the Hog Pen.
The most important person really might be the fire marshal about making sure that everybody can get in to watch this game.
We asked both coaches for this really important game how they've handled it, knowing there's going to be a lot of noise, whether it's the 50th Regiment, whether it's the V h s Wildcat band, whether it's this environment itself.
Let's start with the visitors in Shelton Felton at practice this week, Valdosta, they decided to bust out the big speakers and what the coaching staff did to the players is they played music the players didn't like, like the temptations.
I don't know how you couldn't like the temptations, but they went with music that they didn't like to try to keep them focused.
The players, though, they got to do the same thing with the coaching staff and pick music that the coaching staff didn't like, so the coaches could remain focused.
No clue as to what that music was like, but big speakers on hand down the street, 45 minutes away in Valdosta, flip side, Sean Calhoun and Colquitt County, they understood on Sunday that this was a big game.
They had the meeting, the team meeting, and it was going to be on television.
They told the they told the team this.
And that's really about it.
Nothing different other than the commercial breaks.
They know what the 111th renewal of this one is like.
It's been all business for Colquitt County.
It's been loud and rambunctious.
45 minutes to our southeast.
So let's go ahead and light a candle in the Wayne Gandy press box for Wayne Gandy and Matt Stewart.
This one's going to be a good one, guys.
Yes.
To avoid confusion, Wayne Gandy a legendary sportswriter here in South Georgia, the press box is named after Wayne Grandy.
But my man Wayne Gandy is in the Wayne Gandy press box tonight.
Yeah, in Wayne Grandy is right here behind me.
The man himself, to welcome us to this beautiful stadium.
And what a crowd.
The cowbells are going.
The barbecue smoke is all over the place, which is making me hungry, Matt.
But it should be a great game out here tonight between these two teams.
Indeed.
Now, as you watch the game tonight, if you want to keep up with scores around the entire state, go to the QR code right there on your screen.
Download the GPB sports app.
Keep up with the scores as we go.
Throughout this Friday night on October 16th, as we come to you live from Moultrie, Georgia.
In this big region, one, seven, eight battle, this is the region opener for Valdosta.
This will be the second region game for Colquitt County.
They went on the road and beat Richmond Hill 31 14.
To show you how big the region is.
It's a region game.
It's 4 hours away.
Yeah, a great division, great region and two teams that really feel like this game can set them up to win it.
So Valdosta is going to get the ball first.
And they're 56 points per game.
Offense led by their offensive coordinator Keith Barfield.
We're very familiar with him.
He was with Centerville, Bryant and Grayson past couple of years.
Now here with Shelton Felton at Valdosta, and they are lighting up the scoreboard.
Opening kickoff is brought to you by Heads Up Georgia.
Park your phone while you're driving.
It saves lives.
Jesus Portillo Santos has it teed up and ready to go.
Neither one of these teams are big on touchbacks, so we can expect some returns here tonight.
And we are underway from the hog pen, a pooch kick going to be fielded at the 30 yard line.
They're going to rule that a fair catch was called I believe.
And so that's where Valdosta go on offense for the first time from the 30 yard line.
Yeah Braylon Cox right there put his hand up.
I think he he didn't feel like he was going to have enough time to feel the ball.
But he did on that.
And a surprise right there.
Just a pooch kick to start off.
But good field position nonetheless.
They started the 30 yard line.
They are averaging 237 rushing yards per game 400 plus total yards per game, and led by their quarterback Tripp Perry, the 63, 180 pound senior who's committed to Washington, and Lee Small School up in Virginia.
He's committed or completed close to 75% of his passes.
Big offensive line, big tight end and two dynamic division one running backs.
And that's what Coach Felton wants to do run the ball, establish the line of scrimmage.
Darren Foster in the backfield.
Pass out of the pocket.
Going to be caught downfield at the 35 yard line by Jamarion Wingo.
Oh and did we mention Mingo can go get the ball.
Great job right here.
Look at the protection.
Great ability to step in by Perry.
And a great job there by the three star Georgia State.
Commit Mingo to go up at the high point and bring the ball in.
Valdosta is going to play very fast.
Foster gets the handoff, tries to scoot to the outside.
He's got nearly 10 yards on his first carry of the night.
Let's take a look at the impact players that brought to you by Breda Pest Management.
Mingo for Mingo.
For Valdosta already with a big catch there.
Austin sprayed the center.
Big guy who makes all the calls inside.
More on the defensive end.
The sack leader and Graham, the leading tackler for this Colquitt defense.
Perry throws.
It's going to be caught on the slant route to Fennell, and he's inside the ten yard line.
Look how quickly the Wildcats offense is moving.
Big plays.
This team excels with yards after the catch right there.
Just a nice little post route making something happen.
First and goal to go.
Foster is going to get the hand off and Foster's going to get into the end zone for the touchdown by Valdosta.
That tipped them 31 seconds to get into the end zone.
The tempo right here the vision.
Watch this young man foster just making people miss.
Nice job right there.
The jump cut.
Putting that foot in the ground getting into the end zone.
So Valdosta we told you they play quick 56 points per game.
And they do not disappoint.
On their very first drive of the night.
Alan Garcia, who was hobbled a little bit in pregame warm ups, is going to take the p a t and the kick is up and good.
And a 7-0 lead for Valdosta.
Wow.
What a start for the Wildcats.
Wayne.
Foster with the touchdown run his 16th of the season.

Thank you.
What he said he's ready to get back to work.
Cigna $1,500.
Let's go back up to the Wayne Gandy with Wayne Gandy and Wayne and Matt.
Wow.
Have you ever seen a touchdown quite so fast?
That wasn't a kickoff return.
This offense is just high powered, and we thought maybe the three weeks off might slow them down.
They haven't really played in three weeks, but right there explosive big play to start off that drive.
And then we know what foster can do with the ball getting into the end zone.
Yeah they have not played since their September 25th victory over Stockbridge.
There was a forfeit in between that they were supposed to play.
So it's been three weeks since they've actually been on the field against an opponent.
Hubbard coach Felton said he tried to address with tempo at practice.
I guess his team is fully engaged here tonight.
Kick off by Lawson, Waldrop and down at the 12 yard line, Alan Brown fielded that punt, ended up down on his knees.
And that's going to be poor field position for the Packers for the first time.
They have the ball.
The scoring drive is brought to you by DBHDD and the new red ribbon.
365 curriculum, four plays, 70 yards, a blistering 31 seconds.
Impressive.
And now can this call Quinn offense that can score the ball themselves?
Keep pace.
They're going to have to play a little loose.
Have great success on first down to try to keep up with this Valdosta team.
Yeah, the Packers are averaging 35 points per game, which is nothing to sneeze at, but it's 21 points per game less than Valdosta, which is absolutely stunning.
And there's Kai Mitchell there.
Little dual threat quarterback out of the pocket.
Throws a screen pass right in the middle.
And the play doesn't go anywhere.
That was Jason Stephenson the running back with the catch.
They'll bring up second down.
One with a screen right there in the middle trying to catch the defense uh with a heavy rush as his defense is three.
34.
Defense loves to get a lot of pressure.
Trying to take advantage.
Just couldn't come up with the catch clean for Stephenson.
It was a year ago that Stephenson had his coming out party against this Valdosta team in the Packers 18 17 victory rushed for 115 yards in that victory a year ago.
Handoff big hole for Stephenson right up the middle and up to the 26 yard line.
And Stephenson always loves to play Valdosta.
Right over off of that left side.
Kavon Thomas the big left guard.
Another great running back in this game.
When you look at Jason Stephenson this this Valdosta team they play off.
Excuse me.
This Colquitt team they play that two back system too.
They love to rotate Stephenson and Lewis in there.
Between Stephenson and Lewis they've totaled 502 yards of rushing.
So they're getting one big effort out of those two backs.
Mitchell's going to throw it.
It's complete at the 30 1 yard line that separates their three star tight end with the catch.
As we take a look at the impact players when the Packers have the ball.
Antoine Lockett the three star deep threat for this team.
Kavon Thomas we already mentioned him up on that offensive line.
The big guard great at pulling defensively.
Lemon, the leading tackler for Valdosta, and Jordan Foster the pass rush.
He leads the team in sacks.
You mentioned Lamont.
He's got ten plus offers including East Carolina, Arkansas State and UAB.
So second down now Mitchell on the rollout and throws back across his body.
Incomplete at the 38 yard line.
That would have been good enough for the first down had they been able to complete it.
Ball going towards Antoine Lockett.
A little rush right there.
If you're Mitchell continue with your movement.
Force the defense with his ability to run the ball.
He has to threaten the line of scrimmage.
When he gets into those boots.
In that situation right there to force that linebacker up on him.
So third down, third down and five.
This is a big conversion here for the Packers.
They don't want to give the ball back to the Wildcats just yet.
Pass in the middle.
It's going to be caught.
That's going to be a first down to Lockett and Lockett struggling forward finally brought down at the 38 yard line.
But they get the first down yardage.
As we take a look at the Johnny's New York style pizza starting lineup for the Packers on offense, Mitchell the quarterback, Stephenson, the running back.
Lockett.
Curry, Henderson and the wide receivers and tight end separate is actually a tight end.
McGee, Thomas, Davis, Myers and cook on that offensive line, and Cannon Cook is just 195 pounds playing right tackle.
59, 195, but he's going to give you everything he has and all Elbert got.
So first down and ten for the Packers at their own 38 yard line.
Packers time-out sponsored by time-out banking company.
Colquitt County.
So Colquitt County burns their first time out of the game.
And we'll take it with them first down coming up when we get back.

Breda Pest Management.
Tonight's game is brought to you by Breda Pest Management with Strada.
No need to be afraid of bugs.
First and ten coming up for Colquitt County.
They trail here early.
Seven 0-1 of the big points of emphasis for Sean Calhoun's team here tonight.
Wayne was take care of the football and execute.
They went through a three game stretch a couple of weeks ago where they committed ten turnovers in those three games combined, starting with the Lee County game.
xAI Mitchell six interception has to be great throwing against the back end of this defense.
Mitchell to the far side incomplete.
Stretched it too far out there for Lockett.
Coverage coming on the play by Ladarius McIntyre.
And it's going to be second down.
Yeah he threw three pick sixes in one game.
And they won the game against Richards.
How do you do that.
When we say five eight uh he's everything about 58.
But this young man, he fights with his heart.
And the thing you love about him is the way once he get out of the pocket, he plays off schedule.
He's great at delivering the ball.
He transferred in from Mount Zion Jonesboro High School for his senior season here at Colquitt County.
Second down and ten in the pocket.
Going up top, looking deep, threw far for Lockett.
Going to lock it back to back times.
So Lockett obviously is a guy that they're going to be focusing in on tonight.
He's got 27 catches on the season nearly 500 yards in receiving.
As we take a look at the defense for Valdosta brought to you by Giannis Holmes Lampkin and Foster up front Corey Langston Lemon and Henson in that linebacking corps.
And then McIntyre McCormick or the corners Mathis and Hill who we talked about off the top are the safeties.
Time-out's going to be called by Valdosta.
Wildcats.
Both coaches using early time time-outs, just not happy with the look right there trying to on this long third and ten.
They've been bringing pressure as this defense defensive coordinator Lorah Brandon Hudson trying to dial up that pressure force.
Quick decision from Kai Mitchell.
So as we talked about off the top this game is huge.
It's going to shape the seven a bracket because of the PCR rankings.
And right now Valdosta is number one in the PCR which means you know they stay that stay in that number one spot.
They're going to play at home the entire playoffs until you get to the state finals at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Colquitt County is number nine in the PCR, which means they get a first round home game.
If you're in the top 16.
But whether they win or lose tonight, they're PSR score is going to go up because they're playing Valdosta.
And both coaches kind of questionable about the PSR right now.
They're going to see how it works out.
But they had a couple of question marks on on the rankings for certain teams.
And I think all the coaches are would like to see a little bit more emphasis placed on region standings.
That's one thing that Shelton Felton said.
I mean, he's number one in the PSR and he has some question marks about it.
So third down and ten.
This is another big third down conversion.
We're going to say that all the time here with these third down conversions tonight.
Pressure on the line by Valdosta.
Heavy rush coming off the edge.
Mitchell being chased gets out of the pocket and throws.
And it somehow caught.
And they're going to rule.
He was inbounds.
How did he make that catch.
There was no room over on that far sideline.
And Antoine Lockett comes down with it.
Great job here by Lockett working back to his quarterback.
As you can see kind of overthrew the underneath route.
Ball drifted over his head and then landed in the hands of Lockett.
So now Colquitt is going to go tempo here.
And they have it first and ten at the Valdosta 41.
Trying to answer the quick touchdown by the Wildcats and tie this game.
Hand off.
Goes to Lewis Denim.
Lewis.
Not much running room trying to be stripped of the ball right there.
You saw Isaiah Langston the money backer.
In other words a will linebacker trying to strip him of the ball.
Short gain for Lewis.
His first carry of the.
Game.
Wow.
Cat defense is definitely dialing up the pressure.
Playing man to man on the outside.
And they're going to force quick decisions.
When you hand that ball off right there.
Denham Lewis, if he can get by that first defender, that's rushing.
It's a lot of green grass back there.
It's a very young Valdosta defense.
They lost nine starters at left off last year's state semifinal team.
Mitchell moving in the pocket.
Fires incomplete.
Had a short target out there in the Dyna Mitte.
Gavin Henderson couldn't come up with.
It was not a great pass.
It's going to be third down and long again.
Big pressure once again in the face coming in those air gaps by the linebackers, forcing Mitchell to the outside to make a quick decision.
And you're going to have to start seeing that aspect where he can run the ball.
He's going to have to make some plays running.
Right now.
He's trying to keep it going with the pass game.
He's going to have to run the ball here tonight.
I thought he might have been able to on that play.
So third down and nine.
Hand off.
Nothing doing right there.
As Stevenson gets swallowed up by Caden Holmes.
Nice job there.
By Holmes.
Number nine working down the line.
Good job here.
Watch nine.
Just work down the line.
No cutback lane to get into there.
By Lewis.
Yeah he's the only returning starter on that defensive line.
One of just two returning starters on the entire defense.
Spent a lot of time in the shadows of Corey Howard, the great defensive end who's now a freshman at Alabama.
So fourth down punting situation.
And Walker Lanier, who is just absolutely blasting the ball in pregame warm ups, is on to kick standing at his 44.
This time a line drive kick kicks it away from the return.
Man gets a great bounce for Colquitt County and scoots out of bounds.
Let's see what they're going to spot.
It looks like the 12 yard line.
So great field position here for the Colquitt County defense as they flip the field don't score but they flip the field.
And that's where Valdosta goes on offense.
Great point there.
They were able to get a couple of first downs to be able to make this Valdosta offense go the long way.
Got to be able to make them have to execute.
You can't let them.
They feast on the big play.
That's how they put so many points on the board.
They love to strike fast.
Well, here's the quarterback, Tripp Perry.
Coach Shelton Felton was very complimentary of this young man.
Knowing this day and age when players transfer out, he said this is a young man who stayed.
He wanted to be a starting quarterback at Valdosta.
And here as a senior, he's getting that opportunity.
Darren Foster on the carry.
He's going to get a few yards on the play.
Timir Moore, the other number nine, we got two dynamic number nines playing on the defensive lines for these two teams.
Timir has committed to Georgia Southern.
He made the tackle right there.
Going to be second down pass thrown.
It's complete out here at the 25 yard line.
That's going to be a first down catch.
Nice throw there by Perry.
Good rollout good protection up front.
Nice job by Dawson making himself available.
Nice ball right there.
This offense plays a lot of pace.
Keep pressure on you.
That's just the third catch of the season for Dawson.
Up top.
Perry goes.
And it's going to be broken up at the last moment.
Great defense right there by Colquitt County.
A mere night in a former wide receiver.
Breaks up that long pass.
And it's going to be second down.
Here's a look at Johnny's New York style pizza offense for Valdosta Perry the quarterback.
Foster the tailback.
Dawson Mingo now the wide receivers.
Turner's the tight end.
Thomas Richardson spray Johnson and Nellums the right tackle.
The most dynamic as far as a college prospect standpoint is Nelson Nellums, who has ten offers, including Pitt.
So second down as Tyree Turner in motion behind the line.
That's a big sophomore right there.
Foster gets run down from behind.
How about that McKenzie Graham.
They got the two Graham brothers in that linebacking corps.
That's Mac McKenzie gets the tackle.
Great job right here.
All effort have to get to these backs before they get started.
McKenzie Graham the three star just a heat seeking missile type player right there showing you the speed.
Third down and 11.
Perry goes to the other side and it's complete but not going very far as the catch is made by Mingo.
And he gets drilled right away.
Luke Strong the corner gets him on the ground.
It's fourth down.
They're going to go for it or they're going to try to draw him offside one way or the other.
But they line up like they're going to go for it here.
And there might have been movement there.
Now comes a late flag.
That was a late flag.
Ty young the nose guard caught in the neutral zone right there.
Before the snap encroachment on the defense.
Five yard penalty five yard penalty.
Kim Holmes is your referee.
And here's the look at the rest of the crew working tonight's big region 178 showdown.
Catching the young sophomore with the hard count right there.
You got to know where you are on the field.
The down and distance.
So a first down for the Wildcats.
Short gain on the first down.
Snap.
Nice job there by Enoch Linebacker.
They rotate a lot of linebackers a lot of bodies in there.
Their linebacker driven team their seniors are mostly in their linebacking corps.
Yeah that's the strength of their defense no doubt about it.
Second down and eight.
Perry fires a dart caught by Mingo.
That's a first down.
Catch.
What trust here.
Perry throwing that ball.
To Mingo in that tight coverage right there.
He trusted him on that slant route to come in there and deliver for him.
Nice job there for Mingo for his quarterback.
Perry Mingo has already had a big first quarter hand off.
Goes to foster.
Foster lowers his helmet and pulls his way forward, gets about nine on the play.
That's a 5′9″, 185 running back running with strength and authority right there.
Running behind his pads.
Came into the game averaging 8.1 yards per carry.
Already 5100 yard games on the season.
Yeah he's committed to Oregon State.
Way out there in the Pac 12 shows the Beavers over Georgia State in 26 other offers.
Second down and short.
Let's see if they take a shot here.
Perry right across the middle.
It's going to be caught.
Fennell inside the ten.
And that's the aspect of the nail.
He's that dual threat that slot tight player.
Love how he sits down in the zone.
Makes himself available for his quarterback.
And then we know what he can do.
Running the ball after the catch.
First and goal to go from the nine.
Valdosta trying to take a two touchdown lead here.
Foster on the run, bounces off a couple of men and gets down to the one.
Got great balance.
The balance the vision right here to find that cut.
Kind of stopped by traffic.
And then he sees the to the backside.
And that's what makes him such a special back.
Goal to goal gives it to foster again.
This time he gets hit just moving backwards into the end zone for the touchdown.
What a run by foster.
Got hit and stumbled backwards into the end zone for his second score of the night.
Once again showing you the balance right there.
The feet, the legs.
All driving.
Taking the contact.
Watch high foster right there.
He takes the contact and then just drives his wheel into the end zone.
So Alan Garcia is going to take the p a t here already a 13-0 lead just 8 minutes into this game.
If you were thinking there might be some rust for Valdosta, you can think again.
No rust for Valdosta tonight.
Even though they haven't played in three weeks.
Pat is good and the Wildcats have a 14 to nothing lead.
It's just a clean operation.
Good blocking up front following his tight end.
The ability to absorb the hit right there off the edge by Mark Graham and then continue to drive his feet to get into the end zone.
Fantastic start here for Valdosta.
153 yards of offense and two touchdowns in the first 8 minutes.
And that's when that Packer defense when you have that fourth and three you got to get off the field.
You give them that free five to get that first down.
And this offense they don't need any gifts to score.
You got to be able to get off the field when you have a chance.
Great job of capitalizing and punching another touchdown.
The scoring drive is brought to you by DBHDD in the new red ribbon 365 curriculum.
This time it's an 11 play drive, 88 yards, but they run 11 plays in 3 minutes and 17 seconds.
This offense is just unbelievable.
The different guys that can hurt you when they touch the ball.
And Perry doing a great job in his first quarter.
So Waldrop with another kickoff short kick taken at the 18 yard line.
Or maybe that was the 13.
Pardon me, and a short return up there in Colquitt County.
Again, not great field position for the start of their second possession.
They were able to move the ball like I said.
I mean they're going to have to start going for it on fourth down.
You can't give the ball back to this team.
Yeah.
When they hit midfield they're going to have to.
You got to be in four down territory.
For four down territory.
You kind of feel the pressure in the stands already when you're playing against this team.
The way they can score, you're not going to be able to just go out and kick field goals.
You're going to have to go down and get touchdowns.
So Packers back out there on offense.
They had 46 yards on their opening drive, but no points.
Mitchell on the quarterback run spin move in the middle.
Scoots to the outside.
And Mitchell across the 40.
Kai Mitchell across the 50.
And we just talked about that in that last drive that Mitchell is going to have to start using these legs right here.
Quarterback read right up the middle.
Gets kind of lost in the traffic and then shows you the kind of speed, the elusiveness that he has.
Sean Calhoun says he's never had a quarterback who was his leading rusher going into the eighth game of the season.
But that's the case here for the Packers and Kai Mitchell, who's averaging about 60 yards on the ground.
Another 162 through the air about 163.
Actually.
It's accounted for 15 total touchdowns.
They're going to need all of that and more tonight.
First down and ten.
Heavy rush.
They got him.
Quarterback sack.
Wow.
Back at the 40 1 yard line.
Quarterback sack for Isaiah Langston.
Just a dog right here.
Langston miscommunication there by the center.
Langston just comes free for the sack right there.
No chance picking him up.
And we talked about how this Wildcat defense in this first quarter continues to dial up the blitz.
Putting a lot of pressure on Kai Mitchell.
And this offensive line to communicate who they have.
They're young but they play fast and aggressive.
And Coach Shelton says.
Shelton Felton says look that fast and aggressiveness makes up for a lot of mistakes.
A lot of young guys in there, especially at linebacker, they're all built in that kind of safety size.
So you got to get a hat on.
Them, come out Colquitt County, their second of the half.
Tonight's game.
So Packers use their second time out here in the first quarter.
And we already talked about how once they get to this part of the field if it's fourth and durable, they're going to have to start going for it and have that kind of mentality.
So right now they're going to have to discuss the pressure, the blitz and making things happen.
Dial up plays, as I said, if they're going to play man to man, Kai Mitchell has to punish them running the ball.
14-0 lead for Valdosta.
Let's look at the top prospects on this.
Wildcats team.
They've got 33 stars, 13 total players with college offers led by Marquis Fennell, three star running back slash wide receiver.
Committed to Stanford Jamarion Mingo, three star wide receiver.
Committed to Georgia State.
Dereon foster, three star running back.
Oregon State.
AJ Hill, the safety chose Kennesaw State over 18 other offers and then Nellums the big right tackle.
63, 330 although coach Felton says he's gotten down to about 290 now.
They call him Big Baby now at 2:90 he was 330, but coach raves about him and what he is going to be able to do on the next level.
Just feels like he's a great athlete.
The most flexible, uh, athlete he's had in the offensive line.
Compared him to Zacharias Peak, the former Wildcat who's now a starter on the offensive line for South Carolina, says he's even more athletic than he is.
The pass complete to Gavin Henderson.
First catch for him tonight.
He gets slung out of bounds.
It'll be second down.
Good job right there coming up and making that play.
Dorian Mathis the safety.
But the big play.
They're going to have to continue to test this secondary and get something going downfield.
So it is third down pardon me.
Third down and 16 with the ball at the 49.
Minor side of the 50 for the Packers.
Again pressure coming.
Nearly got another quarterback sack.
Mitchell runs out of it.
Got a chance to do something.
Breaks a few tackles gets close to the first down yardage.
And there you see the dangerous legs of Kai Mitchell right there.
He has done that so many times for them this season.
Gotten them out of trouble by making plays happen with his legs.
Big pressure right there.
Just whipping on the sack, getting out of the pressure.
The ability to scramble and the speed.
Sometimes he just gets lost when you're that size.
And here fourth down if you're Valdosta you have to be wary of a fake right here.
So fourth down and we'll call it a short two.
They got to get to the 35 yard line.
There's the run going to get stopped.
Let's see where the forward progress is going to be.
It's going to be short.
They didn't get it.
They didn't get there.
Valdosta defense rises to the occasion and gets the stop on downs.
Heavy formation to the left, deciding to go back to the right with this run here, Wildcat formation and a nice job there.
Big time hit there by lemon.
Jim Davis lemon 6′1″, 220 senior.
Great job there.
Leading tackler leading the way.
Coach Felton says that he makes the defense go.
And those are the kind of plays he's the size they have at that linebacker level.
He's the senior leading these young sophomores.
Great job, great tackle.
Yeah well he got the defense off the field that time.
Getting that fourth down stop.
And so now the dangerous Valdosta offense has the ball back.
Foster in motion behind the line.
Handoff goes to Fennell who lines up as the running back this time.
And he gets a first down.
Flag out.
So much speed.
The vision.
Both of these backs the nail right there.
The quick juke to the outside.
They put so much pressure on the defense that you got to stay home.
You got to be disciplined.
I mean Fennell is the backup running back if you will.
Plays wide receiver here.
He averages 11.2 yards per carry.
Against the offense ten yard penalty from the spot will still be first down.
Wayne.
That's the only thing I can see right now that's going to slow down.
Valdosta would be themselves.
Yeah they would have to beat themselves with penalties like that.
Holding or turnover.
But right now they're dominating the line of scrimmage and they kind of just running what they want against this defense.
Yeah they've got five senior starters as you pointed out on that offensive line.
All five of those guys have been with Coach Felton for four years.
It's a veteran group.
He tells them, look, if we're if we're going to win, it's going to be on you guys.
Another big run by Fennell.
He just gets it all right back.
Great job there.
Kariem Johnson pulling around the big right guard.
Tyler Richardson as well.
Leading the way with the kick out block right there.
Just so much pressure for nail.
You really can't tell these backs apart.
The way they run the ball.
Ball goes out of the air to foster.
This time he gets upended at the 40 yard line.
Tackle made out there by McKenzie Graham.
But Darren Foster has rushed for nearly 3,600 yards.
He's gone over 3,600 yards rushing with these.
What he's done so far here tonight.
I love how Coach Felton he called him one A and one B not 1-2 They're one.
They're basically starters especially with the ability of Fennell to be able to play in the slot.
They are so dangerous.
I challenge anybody to tell me two running backs more dangerous than these guys.
And that's a direct snap right to Fennell that time.
Short, modest gain.
That time brings up third down and short.
Nice job there.
Just getting behind that offensive line trying to pick up that first down.
Falling forward.
I got a good look at number 79 their center.
Look at that guy.
He is a monster.
Austin Spray coach Felton calls him a three for three offensive lineman means he can play center.
He can play guard.
He can play tackle.
Got to get his pancakes up though.
Right now this is a pancake offensive line.
Big impressive group.
And they're dominating up front.
And that is the end of the first quarter.
Dare we say the first quarter belonged entirely to Valdosta.
They've got a 14-0 lead as we head to the second and they've still got the ball threatening to score again.
Impressive first quarter for the Wildcats here in Moultrie.

Heads up, Georgia.
Parking your phone while driving saves lives.
We welcome you back for the start of the second quarter.
Matt Stewart Wayne Gandy and Jon Nelson here at Mack Tharpe Stadium.
Tom White Field in Moultrie, Georgia.
Fantastic atmosphere here in South Georgia tonight.
Packed stands crowd that's energized on both sides.
The Valdosta side and the Colquitt side.
And it's been all Valdosta as we start the second quarter 14-0 and first and ten for the Wildcats at their own.
Or make that Colquitt 35 yard line.
Perry clean pocket looking.
Plenty of time throws coming back to get it is Mingo.
Mingo weaves through the defense gets around the corner and Mingo down to the five, ran into his own man.
That's going to be first and goal to go for the Wildcats.
And this starts with protection.
The ability to survey the field.
Go to your third fourth look.
They're finally finding his big target and Mingo YAC is the name of the game for this team of Valdosta.
Foster right up the middle, barely touched touchdown.
Third touchdown of the night for De'ron Foster.
And we are less than 13 minutes into the game.
Took him 31 in the first quarter to kick it off in here.
Only 20s to score.
To start off this and the ability to get out of the tackle right there.
Just a great job avoiding Ty Moore of Colquitt.
These two running backs, I know we have mentioned them already so much, but that's what they love to do.
Find a way to get the ball to foster.
And for now.
So foster scores again 20 to nothing lead.
And the p a t is perfect.
21-0 Valdosta has jumped on top of Colquitt County here early in the second quarter.
18 rushing touchdowns now for Darren Foster.
I think he said I want a little water a little water.
Need to hydrate.
After three touchdowns in the first 13 minutes of the game.
He's a three star running back.
He's committed to Oregon State.
And you're saying now how does a kid like that jump over all these schools in the southeast?
Well, it's the 59, 185.
Yeah, it's holding him back.
It's the size.
You're looking at that part.
But he's very well built.
When you see him out on the field right here, look at the power, the vision, the ability to run behind his pads right there.
Just running through that looks like one of those drills where the running back warms up.
And in the pads are hitting him.
But what a great dynamic player he run.
Foster is.
And we've had the pleasure of watching him since he was a sophomore.
The starting running back here for three years.
DBHDD in the new Red ribbon 365 curriculum scoring drive in six plays and 64 yards.
And Colquitt County is in trouble, down 21-0 here on their home field.
Early second quarter.
The good news is there's plenty of time to come back.
But they got to start that now.
They got to get going on that comeback project about right now.
Yeah it's already in in that kind of desperation mode when you feel they got to get something to feel good about starting this game right now they're on the ropes and they're going against a high powered offense.
They're getting a couple of plays here and there with Mitchell.
Have to continue to see him.
But you really feel like at some point he's going to have to try to get Antoine Lockett deep down the field.
Someone making a big play for him.
Yeah Lockett has two catches.
Kai Mitchell five of nine passing 37 yards three carries 32 yards.
So the yardage is there but it's got to be productive yardage.
It's got to result in points.
Hand off goes to Stevenson.
Stevenson spin move.
Tried to get out of a tackle and a nice cleanup job right there on defense by Dorian Mathis.
The safety.
Playing down in the Parkes is Mathis.
He is the general on that back end.
6′1″, 175 senior him and A.J.
Hill just a great combination at the safeties.
Yeah that's the strength of their defense.
Coach Felton says.
Man look at my safeties.
That's the strength of my defense with Hill and Foster or Mathis.
Pardon me.
Mitchell complete to the tight end, Saporito sheds a tackle.
Saporito off to the races.
Finally caught from behind inside the 15 yard line.
But that was the big play they were looking for.
And Tucker Separata provides it for them.
The Georgia State commit, 63, 222.
Great job.
Still farming and then showing the speed for such a big fella right here having to be chased down.
By AJ Hill.
But a big play we talked about this offense is going to need something bigger than just Kai Mitchell on his scrambles.
He's got to get a big play right there.
Getting him inside the red zone.
So first and ten from the 14 after the big catch by Saporito.
Mitchell scrambling out to his right.
He's being chased.
He's throwing back at the end zone.
Touchdown.
Colquitt County gets on the board with a touchdown strike to Antoine Lockett.
And that's the dimension that Kai Mitchell brings to the football field right there.
The ability to play outside of the pocket play off schedule here.
Just buying time.
As you can see Antoine Lockett comes all the way from across the field.
He's the backside receiver.
It takes a long time for him to get over there.
Nice delivery.
Throwing the ball on the run there by Mitchell.
So that makes it 217.
And a sign of life here for this Colquitt County offense.
Stuart Grant on for the P a t. Walker Lanier is the holder.
They get it down.
They get it up and they get it good 217.
So Packers get back in the game with a touchdown drive of their own.
It was Mitchell to the back of the end zone.
And Lockett with a big play for the Packers 14 point deficit.
Early second quarter.

Send it down to Nelly.
Spending some time in Colquitt Huddle looking at their offense after the touchdown.
A lot of focus from the coaching staff in the first quarter plus was basically just kind of calm down and breathe, get into the rhythm of the game.
You finally got to see that with Colquitt offense.
They also had a reminder there was a little bit of excessive celebrating.
Coaches reminded him, look, there's a lot of game left.
You don't have to go that excited yet.
It's okay.
You had a great play to score, but focus on the task at hand.
You got two scores to make up.
Let's send it back upstairs.
Thanks, Nelly.
I agree there's going to be a lot of celebrating tonight.
I think we might be tracking towards like, a 60 40 kind of game.
I mean, we might put 100 points on the scoreboard tonight.
The way these two offenses are going at each other.
So here is the kickoff going to be well it's going to go out of bounds.
So not taken.
Fennell was back There.
So probably a good thing that it went out of bounds.
And it looks like there intentionally trying to keep the ball away from final pooch pooch kick right there.
But that time it went out of bounds.
So they're going to take it.
In all likelihood, they have the option here to make them rekick again if they like, but they'll probably just take it at the 35.
And that's what they're going to do.
But it.
Really felt like that last drive by Colquitt was something they had to have.
And they executed in it in that way.
Uh, a big play there to the tight end to get it going.
So now the Wildcats offense is back out there.
They have 227 yards in 14 minutes of work.
Perry going to dump it off to the tight end.
Nice open field catch and tackle.
Tyree Turner the tackle was even better.
And it was Josh Alford who made that tackle.
Nice job.
Alford.
Good play design here.
The big tight end the young sophomore there Kyree Turner.
But a great job by Alford making that play an open field.
You asked Coach Felton about him.
He said what did he say.
He's pretty.
He's a pretty big tight end.
He's Kyree Turner.
He's pretty.
Second down.
Up top and broken up.
Great play by Knighton on defense to break up that pass intended for Mingo.
Right there.
If Jamarion Mingo you want to slow up right there and just keep the ball in front of you by continuing to run.
He let Knighton be able to get into the play and knock the ball down.
Let me tell you, Wayne Knighton's got a huge upside.
He's a former wide receiver, but he is 62, 178.
Ultra athletic.
Coach Calhoun says if he can play with confidence, he's going to be really good.
Ball dumped off to foster.
That's a first down.
That's more than a first down.
Got the big fella out there running convoy for him all the way down to the 30 yard line.
How about Jake Nelms way down blocking for him.
Great job here.
It starts with Tripp Perry buying enough time to allow his running back right there foster to get out into the open field.
And then you see spray and you see Nellums the big right tackle down the field.
Foster gets the handoff, clears the edge and gets down to the 20 yard line.
Flag out.
I think you're going to get Thomas the left tackle right there.
Like I said a few moments ago Wayne I think the only thing that slows down this Valdosta offense is penalties themselves.
I mean every time they touch the ball it's it's a 1015 yard pickup.
Definitely doesn't seem like any rush from that long break.
Holding on the offense.
Ten yard penalty repeat first down.
Well they did a lot of one on ones during that three week layoff when they didn't have a live opponent.
So best on best in practice with some rewards and punishments laced in their punishments.
For those who lost rewards.
For those who won.
Yeah.
No situations.
I always won.
I was going to go light on me.
I'm going to get myself out.
But great job by this offense.
Offensive line, couple of holding penalties to slow down things.
Direct snap.
Oh big hit right there on the spot.
DeShawn office the Mike linebacker stopped the back in his tracks.
Nice job there playing down the hill right there.
Offense.
And they have a tremendous amount of great tight ends on this field.
But they got great linebackers as well.
And this is the kid.
The sophomore quarterback Lamar Thomas.
They think he's got a huge upside.
Got him in there right now for Tripp Perry.
Quarterback of the future here for the Wildcats.
And they're going to let him throw the ball.
Dropping back and throwing up there.
Intercepted intercepted by Caden King bringing it back the other way.
King still on his feet.
Might turn this into a pick.
Six finally tripped up from behind the line at the 30 yard line.
How about that?
Caden Caine.
Great job playing center field here by King.
Just kind of floating it up.
Interesting play call as soon as you put Lamar Thomas in to throw this ball deep.
Trying to get the ball to Mingo playing center field.
There is King.
And right here you could tell he was trying to make sure he was trying to get on the scoreboard.
Big time.
Return by Caden King takes it all the way back to the 30.
Sideline warning against Valdosta.
Sideline warning their first.
Seventh interception of the season for this Packers defense.
They now have 17 takeaways as a unit.
And so now that's the big play that the Packers were looking for.
Kind of like breaking Valdosta serve.
You're thinking tennis here.
From the 28.
Mitchell being chased.
He's in trouble this time.
He's going to go down quarterback sack back at the 40 1 yard line.
Could not have escaped.
DeShawn Corps.
Right there.
If you're Kai Mitchell when he gets in trouble is when he stops his feet right there.
Didn't like the backside slant.
And when you have that kind of speed that he has, just stay on the run.
Keep threatening the line of scrimmage.
We've already seen when you take off and run.
So they have to respect that.
Don't stop your feet and try to set up.
So second down 23.
We'll see if Colquitt County can rebound from that mistake right there.
Keeper by Mitchell squirms out of the pass.
Rush gets around the corner.
He's inside the 30.
Inside the 20 inside the 15.
Ball comes out.
Valdosta has it inside the five.
Jim Davis lemon recovers that fumble.
I want to say Dorian mid Mathis the safety pulled the ball out.
Just a tremendous play by Kai Mitchell here.
I think he wanted to hand that ball off to Stevenson.
But getting out of trouble there getting to the edge and the acceleration he shows out on the edge and watch as he tries to cut back chasing the play right there.
You can see Mathis just pulled that ball out.
Just ripped it right out of his arms and lemon recovers at the four yard line.
Huge play by this Valdosta defense.
And that's their eighth takeaway.
They don't have nearly as many takeaways as Colquitt County.
But that's their eighth.
That's their third.
Fumble recovery comes at a most opportune time, as it looked like Colquitt County was trying to grab some momentum here.
Yeah, they had all the momentum, had the big touchdown and then they get the turnover.
And now this defense still has to keep that tempo right here.
You got the offense inside the five yard line.
You got to find a way to get off this field.
Don't let them flip the field on you.
2173 touchdowns for the Wildcats.
All of them touchdown runs by Dereon Foster.
Direct snap to Fennell.
Oh my goodness.
He might house call this one.
This might be 90 plus final sprint.
Touchdown.
Amazing play right there coach.
Fairfield offensive coordinator going with direct snap Wildcat heavy left set.
Great blocking up front there.
Great job there by the sophomore tight end Kai Turner.
And the speed the ability to outrun the angle of the free safety.
Robinson by Fennell.
Wow.
What a. That's all you can say right there.
Amazing.
Amazing speed on a 96 yard touchdown run by Marquise Fennell.
Nothing against Stanford.
It's an amazing school, but I tell you what, there's some Southeastern Conference teams that could use that speed.
This kind of speed can't be taught to be able to take the ball 90 yards by anyone outrunning the angle by Robinson.
As you can see, two try to come in the blocking on that left side by Richardson, Thomas and Turner.
The tight end to spring him free.
These two Pike's.
You can't.
Consensus three star running back or maybe a wide receiver next level.
Probably running back.
Committed to Stanford.
Committed to the Cardinal over Colorado.
Florida State 25 other offers.
Those kind of runs make plans change right there by both.
Both of these back.
That's kind of play on this kind of stage against this team.
And it's great for them to get this opportunity for a lot of lot of people to finally see Marquise Fennell and Ron Foster do their thing.
And a 287 lead for Valdosta.
Kick's going to be taken at the 17 yard line.
Henderson on the return.
Going to make it up to about the 35 36 gets stopped there.
And Valdosta says the ball came out.
But the officials do not agree.
Stayed down by contact with the ground.
Yeah.
Shelton Felton out there wants to make his case.
He thought no, he's coming out there.
Guy got hurt.
He's not coming out there to argue.
One of his players got hurt.
Like Deshaun core is down number 19.
Yeah he had that quarterback sack a few moments ago.
Just really impressed with what we've seen obviously from this Valdosta team so far.
Injury time out.
Baker Funeral Home.
You know we talked to Coach Felton about it and said hey look you know obviously Buford, Carrollton, those teams, they're at the top of the state in the seven a. Are y'all one of those super teams?
He says, I don't know.
I don't think we're one of those super teams.
But he says, we're built to win in November and December.
Yeah, I think he feels like he has the players, and he told us that the number one thing for him is health.
He feels like if he can keep his main guys healthy, he will be able to challenge the big guys in the North.
That's that's what he called the teams of the.
North.
Like it was like some kind of Viking conquest teams in the North.
So first and ten ball at the 35 yard line.
Now Colquitt down three touchdowns again.
They just simply cannot afford to make any mistakes.
They've made a few already tonight.
That was Stephenson on the carry.
He gets about five or six on the play.
Have you seen a couple of times with Stephenson.
He's one broken tackle away from showing you how fast back and how great of a back he is.
The young junior.
Yeah he had that big coming out party a year ago.
Like I said earlier against this Valdosta team.
That was the first game that J. Lamar got suspended.
Of course, J Lamar is now at the University of Georgia freshman running back with the Bulldogs.
But he took a he took advantage of that opportunity with Lamar on the sidelines to step up and have a big game, kind of set the stage for what he's been able to do here in his junior season.
Heavy rush.
Mitchell gets it out of there quickly.
That's going to be a first down catch.
Stuck it right in there to Curry.
Love the way that this receiving corps.
They understand their quarterback at 5859.
They're making themselves big targets on those stop routes.
So he can put the ball between the numbers.
So first and ten for the Packers slowing it down a little bit.
So looking to the sideline to get the play call.
Mitchell 106 through the air so far 57 on the ground.
So a total of 163 already in the game himself.
But like I said earlier he's got a manifest itself in points or it doesn't really help you.
Stevenson gets slammed right there as he tried to run into the middle of that offensive line and defensive line, and just great penetration again from that Valdosta defensive line, which is probably right now because of injuries.
Probably the weakest link in the defense.
They've had a number of injuries there in that defensive line.
Right there.
Big penetration by Lampkin and nose tackle lemon playing downhill.
He's a big hitter right there inside.
When he gets going.
So second down and 11.
Showing pressure.
Valdosta once again bringing pressure.
Pass thrown and flag going to come out.
Going to have pass interference here on the Wildcats.
Looks like it's going to go against Ladarius McIntyre.
Good job there by Antoine Lockett.
The three star Georgia Tech commit working inside of McIntyre.
Kind of boxing him out on that route having to play over him.
Easy call for the line judge.
Defensive pass interference.
15 yard penalty.
The result will be a first down.
So that'll give the Packers a first down at the 40 yard line.
And as we talked about earlier in the game these situations you imagine they're already offensive.
Coordinator John Cooper is in a four down mentality to try to keep pace.
They got to be almost got to be in the mentality that you're going for it on fourth down.
And when you score you're going onside kick it.
You just can't give him.
The ball.
I'm being facetious about that.
But I mean you really get the feeling you just can't give him the ball.
Showing pressure once again it's this Wildcat defense.
Mitchell going to step up and gets away from the rush and then goes down.
They kind of had a second line.
You know he got past the first line of the pass rush but not the second line.
Nice job pressure.
They continue to bring pressure that time.
Caden Holmes bringing the initial pressure.
And if it's any negative about this defense so far it's just the missed tackles.
They've had Kai Mitchell dead to rights four or five times and have missed on the sacks.
So now second down and 11 Mullin the 41.
Mitchell looks far side and it is.
Did he hold on to it.
Apparently he did.
That's going to be a catch by Curry over there on the far side down to the 34 yard line.
Curry with a couple of catches on this possession alone had only five catches in their first seven games.
That time.
Beating man to man was Curry.
And that's what this defense so far.
And they've had a long time to watch this Colquitt offense right down in this first half.
They're rolling the dice as Valdosta playing a lot of man bringing a lot of pressure.
Third down and four.
Direct snap run first down.
All the way down to the ten yard line.
LaVar Blither the linebacker.
Which Calhoun said we would see a little breather in there.
Bring some size to 6′1″, 215.
And that's the element of surprise.
That's his first varsity carry ever.
Back up linebacker right there.
Just playing downhill pushing AJ Hill off him running through tackles pulling people down the field.
And Coach Calhoun says if this young man can get out of his own way, he can be a college football player.
Big run by Blythe right there, gets him the first down, and a Time-out has been called by Valdosta.
We'll take it with them.
It's 287 with 3-49 to play in the half.

349 for the first, welcome back to the Hog Pen the margins.
21 Colquitt trying to get a score to close that margin to 14 maybe a little less than that.
Coming up at the break, we get to catch up with our friends from Colquitt Regional Medical.
You save an athlete of the week is from Valdosta.
Take the tour around the state.
AA is stacked tonight for games one, four, 2-3 Going at it.
We'll catch up with all the scores there.
Everything else you need to know.
And a trip to Dexter with our friends from Georgia EMC.
Let's send it back up to Gandy and the Grandy with Matt.
You're going to work that all night, aren't you?
You know it.
So 349 to play here in the first half.
Big possession right here for Colquitt County.
Wayne because they desperately need some points right now.
And both teams being able to use that Wildcat in a powerful way right here.
But you feel as we talked about this four down territory right here.
Kai Mitchell keep your legs going.
Make something happen on the run.
You know back in the days of Kiel Pollard they called it the wild hog.
Mitchell fires incomplete separates the tight end.
Got tangled up back there on that back line with the safety Mathis.
Nice coverage back there.
By Mathis.
This is a big tight end at 6′3″, 222 very impressive looking kid.
And chose Georgia State over 15 other offers.
Meantime Kye Mitchell's your proverbial make that kid an offer.
Guy at 5:81 55 probably going to have to be a slot receiver at the next level.
Not many quarterbacks getting their opportunity at 58, 1:55 at the collegiate level.
Mitchell fires and broken up trying to go back to separate again and again.
It was Mathis same play, just different part of the field.
Great covers here by Mathis.
Good route.
That's good ball.
Just a better play there.
Getting that left hand in there late.
Dorian Mathis.
So now it's going to be third down and goal.
Going from the pocket on those first two passes.
Let's see if they get something with Mitchell outside the pocket away from the pressure.
Pressure coming off the edge misses the pass.
Rush still being chased.
Throws it out of bounds.
Let's see if they drop a flag.
They do.
There was a receiver in the area.
The ball did make it back to the line of scrimmage.
I think.
That's the question.
He was outside the pocket.
Yeah.
The line of scrimmage was the ten.
Did the ball get back.
I don't think that it did.
I think that might be the issue.
There's no flag on the play.
Oh they're going to pick it up.
So they're going to wave off the penalty flag.
So let's see where does the ball.
It goes out of bounds obviously.
Does it go beyond the ten.
Once again just his ability to get out of pressure there.
The move of throwing the ball away.
Once he was outside of the pocket.
So Stuart Grant on for the field goal.
This is going to be a 27 yard kick.
This is well within his range.
He's five for six on the season with a long of 30 is one.
Miss Cayman hurricane force winds last week at Richmond Hill.
Kick is on its way and the kick is good.
No problem for him there.
27 yard field goal for Stuart Grant and they do get some points out of it.
It's 28-10 And I think in that situation if you had got in a couple of yards you get a little closer.
If it was fourth and five, something like that, you would have saw them go for it.
But right there, finishing off with a three points.
But here we go again.
Can this Colquitt defense, this Packer defense do anything to stop the Wildcats offensively.
Yeah.
Let's take a look at the top five prospects for the Colquitt County Packers.
And this is a team with 3-3 stars nine total players with college offers headlined by Antoine Lockett.
The three star wide receiver committed to Georgia Tech.
Josh Alford, the three star safety.
He's uncommitted, was committed to West Virginia or pardon me, not West Virginia, but West Georgia.
But they had a coaching change there in the secondary.
And he decommitted.
So he's got 17 offers still.
Mackenzie Graham, three star linebacker.
Georgia State really going after him hard.
Also has offers from Louisville and Mississippi State.
The Knights and Judy defensive tackle.
Unfortunately, he's out for the season knee injury.
And then you had the big Georgia Southern commit there on the defensive line for the Packers.
Ty Mawr more.
Pooch kick and the ball is loose.
Let's see if the Packers get on top of it.
They do.
Packers recover at the 38.
So how about that.
We talked about them doing this all night long.
Really trying to keep the ball away from the return.
Man on the back.
Good job here.
Just a late break on this ball.
Tried to come up and field the ball.
And just missed it.
28 Timothy Downs, the senior linebacker on the special teams coverage, is the one who tracks it down before it goes out of bounds.
So now the Packers have it back.
This situation watch for Kai Mitchell to try to go up top.
Try to work something on the edge.
Gavin Henderson up top.
A lot of man to man coverage by Valdosta tonight.
Don't want to squander this opportunity to get more points.
Stevenson.
Nothing doing against that defense right there as they stop him stone cold Langston in there on that tackle again.
He's in an active first half.
Isaiah Langston.
And one thing about this Valdosta defense they're used to practicing against two top talented running backs.
And that's why it's tough sledding out here for Stevenson so far.
Second down.
Showing pressure once again trying to make the defense jump.
Trying to get him to declare.
Trying to get a read.
There is Kai Mitchell.
Seven on the play clock.
Hand off goes to Stevenson and Stevenson down inside the 33.
Interesting play calls right here.
When they had it down inside the ten.
Instead of doing this they went directly to the end zone.
And here, with the clock winding down on him a little bit coming up on 2 minutes to play in the half.
They run it straight between the tackles two times in a row.
Nice job up front.
This offensive line of Colquitt very capable.
Worked great as a unit.
We talked about the small size of cook over there right tackle.
Now they're sitting in pork chop Mathis in there.
Big 77.
Six foot, 380 pounds.
Try to follow his blocking.
Three consecutive running plays right there.
He's going to be close to the first down.
And how much is this.
How much is this about Colquitt trying to make sure no matter what ever happens on this drive, they're not going to get the ball back to Valdosta in this half.
Pork chop comes off the field.
Whenever you have a player named Pork Chop, you just want to say that as many times as possible.
Yeah, you got to give him some love.
So first and ten they get the first down.
You're exactly right.
I think they're trying to slow play this a little bit.
They want to get points, but they also want to use up the clock.
Mitchell slings it out here.
Complete.
It comes to Lockett.
Antoine Lockett with the catch.
Big play locking on the edge.
Always a danger especially the way that Valdosta is playing here on one on one with McIntyre.
And you can see his ability to get out of the tackle.
McIntyre holding on for dear life.
Four catches for Lockett here in the first half.
Second down and short clock.
Continues to run.
It has now stopped at 1:32.
Now it's running again.
Go to Lockett on that inside screen.
That time committed to Georgia Tech.
As we pointed out.
Shows the jackets over nearby Florida State took an official visit to see the Seminoles only had five other offers beyond those.
6′1″, 180.
That's a smooth guy, a hand catcher and great.
After the catch.
That's the one thing you watch.
He.
He makes the most out of his catches.
First and ten ball sitting at the 15.
Coming up on 1 minute to play in the half.
Colquitt County doing their best to make sure that Valdosta gets no time on the clock.
There goes to Henderson Rutte on the screen out there on the edge.
Henderson's got the first down.
Is that Henderson?
No, that's Curry.
Pardon me not Henderson but Curry.
Soft coverage there.
Just getting the ball on the edge.
Plenty of space.
Good decision there by Kai Mitchell.
And you imagine they're going to go to the big boy package here and try to punch this in.
As you can see Darline extra lineman coming in.
Here comes Porkchop.
48.5 seconds to play in the half.
This would be a big touchdown for Colquitt County.
If they can get it.
Zacharia going to take the direct snap and running himself.
Saporito lunges into the end zone for the touchdown.
Touchdown.
Colquitt County.
28-16 Sometimes you can make it simple and just let your team dictate the pace up side up front you can see just knocking the white jerseys in the end zone.
And then saporito the big tight end saw Blythe and now we see Saporito both in there handling the ball.
Doing a great job on those wildcat formations.
So Grant on for the PG&E.
The snapper is London Boyd or Landon Boyd.
Pardon me.
He's very good snapper.
Both these teams have outstanding long snappers.
Come out Coxon Cannon.
They might be thinking if they want to go for two right here.
Or they might not have had the right personnel on the field.
You see a look of frustration on John Calhoun's face.
I wasn't even close to getting around to the goalpost.
Good job there.
By the offense.
Capitalizing on that pooch kick.
The turnover eating up the clock, draining the clock and getting in on the in and getting in the end zone.
Let's check in with John.
So you mentioned personnel issues there on special teams on the long touchdown run.
They had personnel issues trying to shuttle the right folks in and out, and they weren't even set when the ball was snapped for a full second.
And that resulted in the long touchdown.
So two phases.
They've had one instance where they have had personnel issues or getting the right folks on Wright folks off within time to get a play snap guys.
Across those T's dot those eyes you see, it looks like they keep the kicking unit out there.
And a try for the single point right here.
No need to chase after those points just yet.
44 seconds to play in the first half.
Kick is through the uprights.
28 17.
Thomas Wheatley so things have settled down a little bit.
I think.
What kind of adjustments do you anticipate you've seen from the Packers in the halftime locker room coming out for the second half?
I mean it seems like a pretty wise line of thinking is to maybe kind of slow play the game a little bit.
If you can be successful in that, play a little keep away here while trying to score points yourself and play.
Keep away from that Valdosta offense.
Yeah.
Right now the Valdosta offense is just too powerful for your defense.
They're being able to go out and really dictate to them.
So offensively you got to come out and we saw Colquitt slow it down on a. You know they were playing with a little pace themselves.
And they slowed it down and start taking their time executing and eating up clock.
Another pooch kick.
This has worked for him.
Tonight.
It's going to be taken at the 22, this time by fennel and fennel.
They get on top of him at the 28.
Caden.
Just hope you enjoyed watching fennel tonight as much as we have.
As you walk.
Watch across the state here tonight.
Just a fabulous talent.
He and Darren Foster putting on a show.
But Colquitt County has kind of survived the punch a little bit.
And now they're back in the game.
Yeah.
They're keeping themselves in this game getting that turnover on the kickoff, then punching it in.
You still have a little life here.
Now let's see how aggressive will Valdosta be here with 40 with 0:39 to go.
They scored their opening touchdown of the game in 31 seconds.
And it was a drive.
It wasn't a single play.
So they're more than capable of moving fast enough to cover 72 73 yards and 39.8 seconds.
Yep.
They're going to look for more here.
Oh a lot more going deep man.
Wide open.
Finally catches it.
Can't keep his balance.
Stumbles down to the 16 yard line.
Otherwise he would have been in the end zone easily.
Got it.
Got twisted around a little bit but a great catch by Marquise Fennell.
Beautiful protection.
Great ball.
Had to wait on the ball a little bit.
Good job of adjusting to it.
Just showing you everything here in the first half.
Is Fennell.
Quickly back to the line going for the end zone.
Jump ball man down in the end zone.
No flags though.
Fennell was the target.
He was looking for a flag.
Didn't get it.
Running step for step.
Good coverage there that time.
Luke strong running step for step with Fennell.
For Colquitt, you just cannot come back and surrender a quick score.
After you had worked the plan to get some points and leave him no time.
Hand off to foster Darren Foster.
Man, he is so slippery.
Gets down inside the 15.
Right there.
Just one step away.
Time-out Valdosta.
Just couldn't keep his balance as he got through the hole right there.
A late draw as you could see they've been running that play.
Excellent tonight.
Little pause by Tripp Perry.
Then he hands the ball off.
Perry 240 yards passing here in the first half.
11 of 14.
Fennell four catches four rushes.
Pardon me.
Four rushes for 120 8-3 catches for 96.
Tripp Perry total command of this offense.
And the thing that stood out even before the game was the 75% completion rate.
That just jumps off the page.
Almost looks like a misprint.
But we see in this first half delivering the ball on time, great protection up front and guys making plays for him.
240 passing yards, 170 rushing yards.
410 yards of total offense for Valdosta in the first half alone.
That's a full game number right there.
They're checking all the boxes halfway to their average here in the first half as well.
Eight points on the board and inside the red zone here.
Looking for more.
Perry comes up to the line, hollers instructions to his offensive linemen.
Roll out to the left, throwing for the end zone.
Touchdown.
Domingo.
Valdosta strikes again 34 17.
They ran this play in that first quarter.
Same little roll out to the left.
Great job of being able to throw the body the ball against his body.
Beautiful delivery there to Mingo.
Good job there Tripp Kelly Perry excuse me.
Tripp Perry once again delivering.
That was a 26 second touchdown drive.
They've had 26-30 1 second touchdown drives here.
And the P a T is good 35 17.
Wow.
Valdosta putting on a clinic here tonight on offense.
Not afraid to put it in the hands of the quarterback.
Colquitt County was trying to run the clock out trying to execute.
They did a great job only leaving 44 seconds on the clock.
But the big play to start that off down the field for now and then just great execution on that rollout.
Tripp Perry to Jamari Mingo.
Yeah.
I mean if you're Colquitt County looking ahead to the second half, I mean, you're going to have to find a way to steal some possessions.
Yeah.
We talked about onside kicking going for it on fourth down.
But right now big conversation.
How do you stop Valdosta for Colquitt.
Just don't let them have the ball.
I mean really honestly.
21 point second quarter for the Wildcats.
Colquitt scored 17 in the second quarter themselves.
But it was that the first quarter where Valdosta put 14 on the board.
And just really dominated that first quarter.
That's kind of been the difference in the game right now.
And they've kind of played it pretty even here in the second quarter.
Problem is Colquitt County can't play it even for the rest of the game.
They got to find some possessions that aren't there.
Pooch kick going to go out of bounds.
Right there.
A little frustrated on that kick.
Not sure why they didn't put that ball on the ground right there and just let it skip back.
They're going to make him kick it again.
I think.
Instead of taking it at the 35.
And that's what Colquitt is at.
They need opportunities to try to get back in this game.
Even with 13 seconds on the clock, 14 seconds on the clock.
Yeah.
With 13 seconds on the clock.
I mean, your best way, your best opportunity to score is a kickoff return.
Yeah.
If you can get it, or at least try to maybe get it to midfield with a second left on it and try a Hail Mary to the end zone.
But that's the desperation they are in in this situation because of the way that Valdosta offense is moving the ball.
So Waldrop has it teed up and ready to kick off again.
Straight away.
Kick going to be taken at the 20.
Running start here.
Blither on the return.
He's a big fella.
Got some momentum.
And Blythe are up close to the 50 yard line.
And they've got 5.5 seconds there at the 48.
Take a heave at the end zone.
Great job there by Blythe.
We talked about coach mention.
Coach Calhoun said he was going to get him a couple of touches right there.
Setting his team up for the ability to at least be able to get the ball down into the end zone.
Here.
I think what you got, you got to see some more.
Blythe are running the ball in the second half.
He's a big body.
He's 220 plus.
He's not an easy tackle.
So let's see what Colquitt does here.
On what probably would be the final play barring a defensive penalty.
Final play of the half, 5.5 seconds left in the quarter.
No time-outs right here.
You just got to buy time.
You're Kai Mitchell.
Let your receivers get close to the end zone before you throw the ball.
Just throw it in the direction of the end zone and hope one of your guys comes down with it.
Pass is thrown complete to Lockett.
He's going to be dropped right away.
And that's the end of the half.
Did you see a flag.
Yeah.
There's a flag sitting on the field at the 45.
We'll check the penalty call here before teams head off to the locker room.
Very interesting call right there.
Trying to get a couple of yards maybe and get down before the clock ran out.
There's Colquitt dangers in that situation that the the play will be over in 5 seconds right?
Yes.
I was looking for a trailer on that to see if they might try to lateral the ball.
Illegal formation against the Packers.
That penalty is declined.
That's the end of the half.
Wow.
What a half it was.
Total points here in the first two quarters.
Valdosta strolls to the locker room with a 50 or 35 17 lead on Colquitt.
35 of those total, 52.
Impressive.
Impressive offensive display by the Wildcats in that first half, amassing 432 yards of offense.
Knocking.
Out all those.
Classes.
So.
Valdosta in their region opener, impressive lead here on the road at Colquitt County.
And it's time now for our Johnny's Pizza halftime interview.
And let's send it down to Jon Nelson.
Thank you very much.
Matt here with Shelton Felton.
You're telling us during the week the motto, I guess this season in all seasons, score, score, score.
You did that 35 points over in the first.
Offensively we've been we've been very explosive doing what we want to do.
Uh, throwing the ball deep.
But we got to tighten up defensively.
We're not we're not making a big stop on third down like we should.
I was going to ask about things defensively.
Obviously Colquitt trailing.
They're going to have to steal some possessions.
They did get the one on special teams.
You've locked them down for the most part.
Yeah for the most part.
Seven making a lot of plays.
We knew we could.
Uh we had a bad job on kick return should a fair catch the ball.
But we got we can't be selfish.
We got to play wildcat football and that physical detail.
We'll be okay.
Thanks for your time.
Thank you.
Go, cats.
Shelton.
Felton.
He's up 18.
Halftime show coming up around the corner from the hog pen.
Football Fridays on the great GPB stick and stay.
We'll be right back.

Here we go.
Football Fridays visiting Moultrie and we're at the Hog Pen.
The visitors up 18 at the interval, 35:17 Time for the halftime show.
And we have company and it's always fun to have company.
We can't thank our friends enough from Colquitt Regional Health for hanging out with us.
Dr.
Franklin Davis, friend of the network, now friend of the show, always.
First off, hi, how are you?
Thanks for having me.
You're a local, so you know what kind of a night like this means?
What's it been like to see a night like this?
Which is no real surprise.
It's crazy.
I didn't come from a high school with this type of environment.
This is super fun.
I want to get into what you guys do more than just showing the golf shirt when it comes to orthopedics, because I imagine after a night like this, you're going to get visits on Saturday morning.
Yeah.
Yes, sir.
Absolutely.
So when it comes to what Colquitt Regional and what Sterling Group get to do, integral part of the community, what's it like to be that part of the community to help when it comes to student athletes and their growth and their maintaining to be those athletes that they can be?
Absolutely.
It's been fantastic.
We've lived here for now, six years.
My family is here.
My kids go to school here, and it's been wonderful to take care of the community that we live among.
And they've been welcoming to me from the beginning.
And now I call myself a packer just like everyone else.
So there's a big word here on the golf shirt.
The third one, orthopedics, when they wander into whether it's Colquitt Regional Medical or the orthopedic aspect at Sterling, what can what can folks expect, especially here in the 21st century?
Because I imagine it's a lot more advanced than it was when I was in school.
Yes, sir.
What I would say is that in a rural practice, we treat a wide array of problems.
If you have discomfort or pain that limits your quality of life, whether it's getting back to sport, whether it's getting back to your job or back to chasing your grandkids, we take care of a host of problems, and we'd love to have the opportunity to evaluate you and get you back to your health.
So what's this about robots helping you out now?
I mean, they don't get paid minimum wage, right?
I mean, they're easy when it comes to labor.
But you got robotics involved now.
Replaced us completely.
No, I'm just playing.
So we use the mecha robot.
I've been very thankful that Colquitt Regional has stepped up and provided that technology.
The mecha robot improves accuracy.
It improves efficiency so that we can help get patients back to their normal lives a little bit quicker.
So what has it been like, say, the last handful of seasons to see advancements like that?
When it comes to the treatment of athletes, student athletes, injuries, and just general rehabilitation?
It's been great.
We've seen athletes be able to start their rehab a little bit faster.
We've been able to sort of build our rehabilitation program in the training program to help improve their careers in the short term and hopefully provide longevity to their careers in the long term as well.
Dr.
Franklin Davis hanging out with us from Colquitt Regional Medical.
He gets a thumbs up.
And that's orthopedics.
That's the word that's there.
I'm used to seeing the a e because I was a guy that took Latin in high school Sterling Group orthopedics.
And thanks for hanging out with us.
Thanks for having me.
All right.
It is now time to roll the clock.
Time to catch up with our friends in Dexter, Georgia.

We are so incredibly proud of West Lawrence High School students, fans, parents and the administrators for what they instill in their students, whether it's on the field, off the field, at school, on the road, wherever they are, the sportsmanship qualities that they have just means the world to us as a community and as an EMC.
In sponsoring the Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award.
Introduced in 2006, this award reinforces the GHSA philosophy that everyone associated with high school activities, from athletes to spectators, should adhere to the fundamental values that represents.
I think it just shows how close we are, not only as a school, but the teachers, the faculty, the students.
Everyone is just super close.
It's like a family.
It is an amazing culmination of an amazing year, to be honest with you.
Um, West Lawrence is has a vast area.
Lawrence County is huge and our district covers many, many different communities.
So we're really proud of being Raider Nation.
We are really proud of once a Raider, always a Raider.
And last year what we saw was people came out and they showed up for our kids.
So it really means a lot to us and it means a lot to these kids.
Oconee, EMC and Okmulgee EMC and the 36 participating Georgia Electric membership cooperatives are proud to sponsor the Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award.
Congratulations to the West Lawrence Raiders community.
First time we've ever had a multiple EMC presentation.
Very, very cool to have that happen here on Football Fridays as also taking the trip to Dexter to hang out with our friends at West Lawrence.
As we go to break, we're going to find out about our Youth Student Athlete of the week.
But here's your bio blast.
Summer Eberhart, Valdosta class of 27.
The basketball journey began in eighth grade.
Every day since then, she's continued to put in the work to sharpen her skills and grow into the player she is today.
Through dedication and hard work, Summer has shown this is only the beginning.
Just getting better.
A vocal leader on the court, bringing confidence, energy and versatility to the team.
She can knock down jumpers, push the ball from one end of the court to the other and make plays when her team needs her.
Whether it's creating opportunities offensively, stepping up on D summers willing to do whatever is asked of her more than a player, team leader, hard worker, versatile competitor who understands what it takes to contribute to her team's success on both ends of the floor, her journey is a reminder.
It's not about where you start, but how much you're willing to work to improve.
We'll find out about summer as we go to break.
Halftime show rolls on here from Moultrie, 35 17.
Valdosta on top.
Mourn a bit.
Summer really started playing basketball like eighth grade.
She's done a lot of stuff on her own.
To be the type of player that she is today, and she's only going to get better.
She can shoot the three.
She post up, she shoots the midrange, whatever I need her to do.
If she grabs the rebound and pushes all the way down the court, she can do that for us as well.
She's more than just a center for me.
She's a vocal leader on defense.
She's a vocal leader on offense.
She gets them where they're supposed to be.
She does exactly what you ask her to do to the best of her ability.
Some of my favorite memories from my time at Marist were, you know, the camaraderie with the teammates.
They go left side again midday with a pitch man behind him.
Don't keep it himself though.
Just down for the war.
Evil winning the state championship against Statesboro my senior year was some of my closest friends was a great memory.
It feels great.
It's an unbelievable feeling and I'm so happy right now.
It's unbelievable.
It was a great game that you guys broadcasted when we also played Thomas County Central in the semifinals, came up short in the Georgia Dome, but was proud of the way that we competed, but had a lot of fun memories.
Understand, sports is such a great teacher.
I wish I knew when I was your guys age that adversity is the best teacher and tough times don't last.
Tough people do all right.
The best is yet to come for GPB.
You guys made my experience in high school amazing.
Keep doing what you're doing, uplifting these young kids, giving them a platform to be able to have cool experiences on TV.
You guys are always first class.
Best of luck the rest of the way for these next 30 years.
Coldest games that I've ever been to was there at Hughes Spalding for that.
It's great to hear Sean Mcvay's voice.
If you ask him about that Thomas County Central game, Alan Chadwick can give you a play, a down and a distance.
Sean's memory is so good that he can tell you what happened in either of those games that we had on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Can't thank everybody that made that happen.
Can't thank everybody enough that we've seen all of these moments here in our 30th season of giving you football here on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Halftime.
Rolling on here at the Hog Pen.
And it is now time to catch up with our friends from Cigna.
Great friends with us.
And they have been since the beginning here on Football Fridays, our signature moment once again.
This time has to do with what we do a lot with these things in social media.
Here's Hannah and our friends from Cigna.
On average, teens spend 4 hours daily on social media, which can affect their mental health.
Matt Evelyn, senior new business manager at Cigna Healthcare, is here to share some valuable tips for parents.
Matt, what are some of the signs that social media might be negatively impacting your child?
You know, social media isn't all bad.
It's a great place for teens to connect with their friends, to learn new things and access information.
Of course, they can also be exposed to cyberbullying, misinformation, and peer pressure that could lead to depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.
We also want to make sure our teens aren't on their phones too close to bedtime.
It's going to be really hard to fall asleep, and if they're checking their phones throughout the night, it can disrupt their sleep cycles.
Yeah, getting that phone away from teens at night is really important.
What are some signs that social media might be negatively impacting your child?
Well, keep an eye.
If they're spending excessive time online, if they're withdrawing from family and friends, or if they're showing lack of interest in hobbies, your spidey sense should really go up.
If they show negative emotions or if they're starting to display harmful behavior that could have learned on one of these platforms.
How can parents guide their child into using social media in a positive way?
Because there are a lot of positives.
There are.
But just like anything, set clear boundaries, probably monitor screen time.
Um, but if there are, if they break the rules, there need to be consequences.
Um, have open and honest conversation with your kids about the benefits and risks of social media, but engage with them just like anything they're interested in.
If you're interested in social media, it might help boost their self-esteem.
For hours on average is a lot of time.
So we need to get that number down.
Matt, thank you so much for being here.
Yeah.
If you would like to learn more about social media and your teen, please visit cigna.com.
As always, thanks to our friends from Cigna for being great partners and great friends with us here at Football Fridays.
Also great friends.
The Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
And you're going to be seeing somebody hanging around with us a little bit more distraction.
Jackson new superhero for Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
Here's a peek.
Welcome back.
Collisions on the field are part of the game, but collisions on the road can be devastating.
Jon the number one cause of car crashes are distractions, which means they're preventable.
100% correct.
Khanna.
To help prevent distractions on the road, our friends at Heads Up Georgia put together a highlight reel of some particularly safe driving.
Let's take a peek at distraction Jackson safe drivers of the week.
Gina just got off work and is heading to pick up the kids from school.
She's already getting points for having her phone in a hands free mount, but watch this.
She gets a phone call and boom!
She sends the call to voicemail.
She knows her safety is more important than taking the call, and she can always call him back later.
Now that's a great play in safe driving, but John check this one out.
Jayden just got out of school and is about to drive home.
He's a new driver and knows that distractions are dangerous.
Watch what he does right here.
He takes his cell phone, opens the console and throws it in.
Classic move.
Talk about a great defense, Hannah.
Tell me about it.
John.
If you can't see it, then you can't be distracted by it.
What she said.
That is your look at distraction.
Jackson save drivers of the week.
The heads up.
Georgia student video contest is back.
If you're a Georgia high school student, we need your help to spread the message.
Make a 32nd PSA about the dangers of distracted driving and you could win a MacBook Pro.
This is what happens when Alex Hanson unleashes Hannah and me in a studio with a telestrator.
Thanks, as always to our friends at the Governor's Office of Highway Safety and.
And introducing us all to distraction Jackson.
When we come back, get your muscles already stretched.
We're going to focus on everybody around the state and let you see some scores.
AA is stacked, packed and racked.
All of that coming up on the flip side of the break here, Football Fridays in Georgia.
Halftime rolls on for Moultrie after this.
Is your phone really more important than someone's life?
When you take your eyes off the road, you're not just putting your life in danger.
In fact, two out of three people killed in distracted driving crashes in Georgia were not distracted.
Driver.
It could have been this family.
This college student, this little girl.
So when you're tempted to scroll, don't pick up.
Think.
Heads up.
You never know whose life you could save.
A message from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
All right.
What do you think, Jasper?
Honestly, I think that polyester shirts affecting your game.
What?
I think cotton would have been a better choice.
Cotton?
Yeah.
It's come a long way.
You know, nowadays, cotton breeze and wicks moisture.
Great.
But buying cotton means supporting Georgia farmers.
I think that's wonderful.
Okay, sure.
But what do you think about the putt?
Oh, it's really hadn't thought about it.
I'm Trayvon Walker with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Congrats to GPB on 30 years of covering high school football in Georgia.
Here's to the next 30.
Go up Son Lee High School.
Thanks to the shout out to Trayvon Walker once again.
Halftime rolls on here.
I'm not messing around.
We got to stretch out during the commercial break.
Time to get your index fingers going for.

Make that kid an offer for this week.
And you know you got to give him love seven days a week.
They do that with John Lasseter and the Bleckley County Royals.
All right let's get to the scores quickly.
Once again brought to us by our friends at Georgia's EMCs.
So much more than electricity going through both pages incredibly quickly.
It is Grayson and Newton.
That one's 10-0 that one is in that one's also on the board early.
Lee County all over Northside, Warner Robins, Commerce and Rabun County at the half.
Cairo and Dougherty.
That one is 16-0 Douglas and Stephenson scoreless.
Hart County.
Leading.
Elbert County 15-0 Early on the board there.
Back and forth with Jeff Davis and Thomasville.
Bremen and Hart County back and forth with that one, too, with one for 2-3 playing in AA, it is Georgia's EMCs scoreboard Georgia's EMCs so much more than electricity.
This game is so much more than the halftime.
We're going to go to break, because we got a third quarter to get to.
We're going to catch up with Sean Calhoun, get you ready for the second 24 minutes.
Thanks to everybody here that's made it happen in Moultrie.
More Football Fridays in Georgia.
Colquitt got some work to do after this.
Football Fridays in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Georgia's EMCs.
So much more than electricity.
Wherever you go, there we are.
Just look at the numbers.
Georgia's 41 not for profit member owned MCs deliver electricity to 5 million Georgians.
Our network of electric lines traverses 73% of Georgia's land area, with operations in 157 of 159 Georgia counties.
We meet our members right where they live, work and learn strength.
The numbers to be where you need us.

Colquitt Regional Urgent Care now open.
Breda Pest Management works to protect the inside and outside of your home from Pests.
Breda.
They handle bugs and critters.
Football Fridays in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Cigna.
Together all the way.
Welcome back.
Halftime.
Coming to a close here in Moultrie with Valdosta up 35:17 Time now for Johnny's Pizza halftime interview.
For that, we send it back down to Nelly.
Thank you very.
Thank you very much, Matt.
We're going to get ready here for the second half.
And I know that it is an E word to catch up with Coach Calhoun as he's directing a little traffic here.
No, it's all good.
No execution.
I know that it's brought to us by the letter E with the first half.
Absolutely.
And, um, when we execute, we don't look half bad.
When we don't, we're down 18 points.
So we got to adjust and, uh, can't get 18 points back in one play.
Just got to plays.
Drives some momentum, get some momentum back.
Stop shooting off all of our toes, fingers, shoes, pants and uh, just settle in and play.
They're really good.
So gotta stop hurting ourselves.
We'll see what happens in the second half.
Thanks, Sean.
Yes, sir.
Go pack.
Send it back upstairs.
Matt, take a look at the first 24 minutes.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Nelly.
Our halftime stats are sponsored by Colquitt Regional Health System, providing health care services in the region since 1939.
What you see.
When you look at the statistics, it seems like the score should be closer.
Uh, first downs are even.
Colquitt is having a good day running the ball, passing the ball.
It's just the big play ability of Valdosta.
And you look at the total yards disparity right there in the average play, average yards per play.
But other than that it's been a good game for Colquitt.
They're just playing against a more explosive offense in Valdosta.
So with that said what can they do.
They're you know they're getting yardage.
That's great.
Yardage doesn't necessarily mean points.
Got to get points.
Got to keep the other team from scoring points, which has been the biggest issue to this point in this game.
What can they do about that?
Uh, right now they're going to have to tackle these running backs.
They're they're missing tackles.
And in situations where they got to get off the field and they're not able to do that.
You can't breathe life into Valdosta.
They're too explosive.
And they're going to have to maybe take the ball, as they say, out of the take the air out of the ball to try to slow down things.
Well, I know this has been a big eye opener for a lot of people around the state to see Valdosta.
I mean, we knew Valdosta was 6-0 5-0 one of their wins was a forfeit a couple of weeks ago.
And this is the first 78 team they've played.
They've played one 6-A team, and everything's been lower than that.
So a lot of people wondered, okay, they're rolling up a lot of points.
They're scoring 56 points per game.
But who are they playing?
Who are they beating?
Who are they doing that against?
Well, they're doing it against a 78 team, a traditional power in region one, seven A and doing it pretty easy so far tonight.
And usually things like 56 points kind of fade when you play a rivalry game that kind of fades out.
But right now they're still in that same pace.
All right.
Second half kickoff is brought to you by Heads Up Georgia Park your phone while you're driving.
It saves lives and we're ready to go.
With the start of the third quarter.
Colquitt will get the ball.
First kick is going to come down at the 17 yard line.
And here comes the return by Henderson.
Kind of tiptoes up across the 30 yard line.
Gets to the 32.
And that's where the Packers will go on offense for the first time here in the third quarter.
You saw the numbers.
They're not bad.
270 yards of offense.
That's a good first half for most teams and most every team.
That's that's good enough to win.
Be a winning first half.
13 first downs.
Been able to run the ball throw the ball.
Kai Mitchell is going to have to continue to face this aggressive defense.
Playing a lot of man blitzing.
Can he make more plays.
How much more do we have in him to be able to elude and make big plays down the field?
So here we go.
Kai Mitchell six carries 56 yards rushing and 13 of 21 54 passing in that first half.
Also threw a touchdown pass in that first half.
So let's see what the Packers can do.
Going to throw the ball.
Going to complete it out here on the edge.
And that's going to be a short gain going to the tight end.
Ethan Ruffin.
Nice job sitting in the pocket there by Mitchell delivering the ball under pressure to his big tight end.
Maybe get the ball to some of the more physical players like Blythe or I thought I liked what we saw from Blythe running the ball in that first half.
A guy that has never run the ball, but we were told he was going to get some carries this week.
I thought Saporito is a dangerous weapon for them at the tight end position, dangerous matchup, you know, with those smaller safeties and almost everybody's going to be smaller than he is when he gets the ball in that defensive backfield.
Ball goes oh nice play.
Breaking out of there is Lockett might house it.
Lockett touchdown Packers.
So they do to the Wildcats almost exactly what the Wildcats did to them in the first quarter.
Scoring the opening 23 seconds of the third quarter.
And here they come right back into the ball game.
Great job.
We talked about Antwan Lockett and his ability in these situations.
Man to man out on the edge.
Beat a man and then make it into a foot race.
He is the deep threat for this team right there.
You can see no one's making a step up on him.
Just a big time player making a big time play.
So Lockett does make that big time play that they were looking for.
That's his seventh catch of the game.
Puts him up over 100 yards receiving here early in the third quarter.
It's 35 23.
And now it's 35 24.
So a great answer by Colquitt County to start this third quarter as they come swinging right out of the gate.
And almost immediately cut into that Valdosta lead.
Against the speech of Coach Calhoun worked there to start this second half.
We saw exactly the same thing to start the game by Valdosta.
Now Colquitt making a big time play.
Bottom of your screen.
Just a little stop route.
Get the ball to your best player and then make a man miss.
When you're man to man.
Coverage is a lot of room.
As you can see, and no one is making a step on Mr.
Lockett.
On this field full of stars on both sides of the ball, Antoine Lockett shines pretty bright himself came in with over 1,800 yards receiving in his career.
Started his career at Dority, transferred to Colquitt County.
It's his second season with the Packers.
That scoring drive just two plays, 68 yards.
It's brought to you by DBHDD.
The new Red ribbon 365 curriculum.
So now the big question is can the Packers get a stop on defense?
Can they just steal the ball back a little pooch kick?
That's a live ball.
And who's got it.
The Packers got it.
That's the recipe.
You got to steal possessions.
And they just did it again.
Second time.
They've done that in this game.
Once again the pooch kick paying big dividends right here just froze.
The Valdosta return team.
None of the return guys looked like they knew that they could go get the ball.
Great job on the pooch kick coverage.
Well the big thing about that kick was that it checked up and.
Months back.
It bounced away from the receivers and it came back towards the defense.
It was kicked perfectly.
That was a fabulous pooch kick, and they're going to give the ball to the Packers at the 31.
Now watch out.
This second half might get a little off the hooks here.
Off the chain here in a moment.
As I tell you what it has started out crazy here in this third quarter.
Can you capitalize get back in this game.
Put the pressure back on Valdosta once again.
Showing pressure up front.
Hand off that.
Stephenson stopped in his tracks.
Good job there by the D tackle.
Caden Holmes.
Isaiah Langston, the middle backer playing downhill right there.
The young sophomore Lampkin inside the big sophomore.
Corey Sims that junior six foot two, 75.
Again, they've kind of thin.
They've had some injuries on that defensive line.
But they've played very well here tonight.
Kai Mitchell.
His ability to extend the play make something happen with his legs.
So second down and ten.
Mitchell looking this way.
Fires complete to lock it again.
Juke gets by a man gets tripped up falls forward to the 19.
They cannot give Lockett that kind of cushion.
Kendall McCormick there just not able to.
And you can see the confidence in that young man.
Get me the ball out on the edge.
If they're going to play man to man.
I'm going to punish them out in open space.
That's eight catches now for Lockett in this game.
See if those kind of plays forced him out of man to man coverage.
Play more zone.
Fakes the screen pass.
And now Mitchell going to run it.
That's a great job by Mitchell.
Everybody thought he was throwing the ball to Lockett.
And he just took off running.
Crick out right there.
He stopped on the pass saw it taken away and then improvising which we know he can do.
Second down and six ball at the 15.
Taking their time.
Different personnel coming in.
And we talked about kind of taking the air going on these drives looking to the sideline, going deep into the play clock once again.
High snap ball gets handed off.
Note Mitchell's going to keep it instead.
Nothing doing on that play.
The high snap really kind of threw off the rhythm of the play.
And then the Wildcats were able to sniff it out.
Jordan Foster in on that tackle for Valdosta along Langston.
High snap taking Mitchell's eyes off of the ability to read the end.
Coming down on that handoff, but a good job of him being able to corral that ball.
I still like to see him get outside the pocket, make some plays with his legs, put pressure on the secondary, whether to come up so he can drop off the ball behind him.
Third down, big third down conversion right here.
Mitchell pressures coming at him.
Going to run away from it.
Langston chasing him.
Mitchell gets inside the five.
Touchdown Packers you saw Kai Mitchell just take off and run away from the defense.
Good job.
Didn't like that initial route on the slant to his left.
Getting outside.
Breaking containment.
Just can't let a young man with this kind of talent and speed stepped up in the pocket.
This time, instead of trying to throw the ball, decided to run it in.
And what explosiveness he shows you when he does decide to run very fast.
Young man, as we talked about, probably next level, going to be in that slot.
He's showing you that dynamic speed.
They don't go for the two right here, which would make it a three point game if they converted.
Going to go for the single point.
So obviously Coach Calhoun thinking there's going to be a lot more points than this scored here tonight.
But Colquitt County has come roaring out of the locker room.
They've scored two touchdowns here in the first five plus three plus minutes.
And it's 303135.
In 2014, Colquitt County entered the Georgia Dome on a Mission Parish.
Going for the home run.
Got Green Green over the shoulder.
That's a touchdown.
Three Chase parish touchdown passes led the Packers to a 28 24 win over Archer, completing a perfect 15-0 season.
The Colquitt County Packers are the 6-A state champions.
One year later, the Packers were back in the finals versus Roswell, and now.
Kiel Pollard out of the wild hog formation, takes the direct snap.
Stiff arms his man and pulls his way into the end zone.
Parrish goes up top.
Ty Lee with a spectacular touchdown catch.
Colquitt wins 30 13, giving the Packers 30 straight wins in back to back state titles.
Another memorable moment presented by Georgia memory net as we celebrate 30 years of high school football here on GPB, go to gpb.org slash sports for more special anniversary coverage.
Is your phone really more important than someone's life?
When you take your eyes off the road, you're not just putting your life in danger.
In fact, two out of three people killed in distracted driving crashes in Georgia were not the distracted driver.
It could have been.
This family, this college student, this little girl.
So when you're tempted to scroll, don't pick up.
Think heads up.
You never know whose life you could save.
A message from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
I've been checking food labels for years.
I like to buy local and I like to buy healthy for my family.
So I started checking the labels on our clothes too.
Did you know synthetic fibers like polyester are pretty much made of oil?
No, thanks.
I look for cotton now, which grows right here in Georgia, a major source of the world's cotton.
Cotton is natural, renewable, sustainable, and buying cotton supports Georgia farmers.
Good enough for me and my family.

Colquitt Regional Urgent Care now open.
Tonight's memorable moment is brought to you by Georgia Memory Net, your partner in memory care.
And we're making some memorable moments here tonight with Valdosta leading Colquitt County 35 31.
And we're just 3 minutes into this third quarter.
Colquitt County Packers resume three state champions, 2015 National champions.
You saw the video.
Those back to back state titles in 20 14-15 Part of that 2015 national championship season when the Packers set a then state scoring record 700 points that season and Sean Calhoun, now the head coach, was the OC for that team under head coach Rush Probst 12 region titles program started in 1978.
That's the program Colquitt County program, but the actual program goes way back to 1913.
Kick's going to get into the end zone.
So a little history lesson as they reset this and bring it out to the 20 yard line for Colquitt County.
This school has been around a long time, was originally known as Moultrie High School.
The great Ray Goff was the quarterback for the Moultrie Packers, but Moultrie High School, Norman Park High School, Doe Rutte High School all consolidated in 19.
78 to become Colquitt County High School.
Great call.
Great.
Georgia head coach recruited me to come to Georgia back in.
Didn't do a good job.
You went.
To Auburn.
That time, Valdosta putting their hands team on the return team right there.
Uh, trying to make sure they got the kickoff executed.
So first and ten for the Wildcats.
They're going to go right back to the air pass thrown low.
And was it caught.
Looks like Fennell did make the catch at the 30 yard line.
Fennell is just spectacular.
If you've seen him for the first time, he is really putting on a show here tonight.
Great job going down, grabbing that ball with his hands.
Has over 200 yards of offense by himself tonight.
Over 100 yards receiving 128 on the ground.
Some pretty amazing individual performances on both sides of the ball so far tonight.
And wow big rally there by Colquitt County defense as they are able to stop the running back.
No running room for Fennell right there.
Big pressure right there.
Number nine Ty Moore the Georgia Southern commit right there.
That's what he's known for.
He plays great leverage.
And with his hands.
So third down and long now a chance for them to get off the field.
Nice catch by the tight end.
Wow.
He had like fly paper on his hands to haul that pass in.
Young sophomore.
Terrelle Turner.
Tyree Turner right here.
Great job going down to grab the big fella.
Third down and short.
They're going for it here and run it right up the middle.
Get the first down with Fennell.
First down at the 45.
Really like how for Mill and Foster they know the down and distance.
You can tell when they're trying to make something big happen right there for nail.
Just wearing his shoulder.
He's grabbing that first down.
So first and ten.
Play gets blown dead.
So.
Before the snap false start on the offense.
Five yard penalty still first down.
Offensive penalties.
Really the only negative with the Wildcats offense.
But they are kind of slowing down themselves as far as plays coming in and out trying to execute.
They can feel the pressure and the momentum.
Switch over to Colquitt.
So first and 15 now pass.
Caught in stride, Mingo inside the 30.
Poor tackling all the way down to the 15 yard line.
They just can't get Mingo on the ground.
Another big hitter to Jamarion Mingo.
Great job once again.
Good play action fake.
Nice throw.
Mingo showing you why he's headed to Georgia State.
The three star.
Six catches for Mingo tonight.
That's Fennell.
Look at him.
Change direction.
They're trying to strip him of the ball.
Can't do it.
Gets all the way down to the six.
So what do you like Fennell as a running back.
Fennell as a wide.
Receiver.
Just on my team.
Yeah.
I mean he's just a football player.
He can make plays in so many different ways.
Gets the rock no Keeper this time by Perry.
Quarterback going to dive it in for the touchdown.
Tripp Perry takes it in for his first rushing score of the season.
They were not expecting that.
It's 41 31.
It's just a play that you know is there the way the Fennell and Foster run the ball.
You can see the end right there shooting down the field.
Alfred coming off the edge paying Perry no attention as he chases the ball.
He's four or 5 yards down the field before anyone on defense recognizes he has the ball.
Yeah.
Hadn't scored a rushing touchdown all season.
Why would they think he would keep it right there.
So the element of surprise gets to him and they get the touchdown.
It's 42 31.
Read option RPO game.
Nice job pulling the ball almost in the end zone before the defense recognizes he's there.
So 42 31 another nicely executed drive by the Wildcats.
They have not been able to be stopped tonight.
As we talked about really just the penalties.
They had a couple of holdings a false start.
The issues for Valdosta has really laid itself in the return game.
On the kickoffs.
Jon what you got.
Before that drive started?
I was over on the Valdosta sideline standing next to Tripp Perry, who is every bit 63.
And he.
And he was literally he's frothing at the mouth.
He's like, let's go, let's go, let's go.
It was almost taking it personally to go out there to expand this margin back to to 11 points the way that it was.
That's what you're looking for from a senior quarterback.
Guys.
Absolutely.
He's a guy that waited his turn.
I mean, he could have, you know a lot of quarterbacks.
They transfer out when things aren't the right situation.
They're not getting playing time.
He stuck around.
He wanted to be the starting quarterback at Valdosta.
Getting that opportunity and really having a great senior year.
I've been very impressed with him here tonight.
Kick's going to be taken to the 15 yard line right up the middle is Blythe.
They need more of that here in the second half for Blythe.
He returns it up to the 42.
Blythe the right here once again gets the ball and he's attacking the defense.
He's daring anybody who wants to come playing it almost as we know he plays linebackers.
He's running the ball daring anyone to come tackle.
Second great return by Blythe in this game guy they have been used on offense.
They've used him on special teams but not on offense.
He's getting that opportunity a little bit here tonight.
Very seldom do you see linebacker.
He has three sacks on the season returning the ball.
That shows you the kind of athlete he is.
So Colquitt back on offense from their own 42.
Mitchell trying to get around the corner and does.
Jitterbug breaks into the open flag out.
Mitchell out of bounds at the 35 yard line.
But check the penalty flag.
Once again dead to right.
Corey Sims 93 right in his face.
Just too much speed too explosive.
Did have a late holding call down the field as he broke the line of scrimmage.
Hold him on the offense.
Ten yard penalty repeat.
First down.
That's a that's unfortunate.
Race is what was a great run.
Right there trying to finish the block right there.
Antoine Lockett a little behind.
But ever since we've seen Kai Mitchell unleash those legs and his ability to get outside the pocket.
Those are the plays that's going to keep them in this game.
He's got 74 yards rushing tonight does not include of course that run that just got wiped out by the penalty.
Rush is coming at him.
He's running away from it backpedaling and throwing incomplete.
Had several guys out there in that general area.
He got away with this earlier.
But once again trying to be the escape artist.
Don't really want to throw that that direction, kind of leading it into the field.
That ball can be intercepted.
But trying to keep from losing yards, getting out the pocket, getting rid of the ball.
How many quarterback sacks has he escaped from tonight?
Half a. Dozen, I would say at least about 10-12 Yeah.
I mean he is just he has kept plays alive.
He has extended plays with his legs.
He has done a marvelous job in that regard.
Pass slung out here complete to Stephenson.
Stephenson Jitterbugs trying to shake a few tackles.
Does a good job of getting some positive yards on the play.
It's going to be third down.
Once again this game for both teams has just become about yards after catch.
Getting the ball out in space one on one against a defender right there.
Stephenson making something out of nothing to make this a manageable third down.
Ball on the 47.
Third and five.
Packers five of eight on their third down conversions tonight.
Some pressure coming off the edge and looks like the Wildcats jumped offsides.
You have the corner creeping up on the edge.
And he might have jumped offside.
McIntyre encroachment.
On the defense.
Five yard penalty.
He caught the Jack Packer right there.
DeShawn Corps initially kind of kept his position.
And then he went with the hard count again.
Caught him offside.
Got a free 5 yards in the first down.
Can I get the feeling the fourth quarter is going to be nuts here.
A packed house a lot of energy in this stadium.
What a rivalry game.
What a rivalry this is.
And whatever they charge for tickets these days, they got their money's worth didn't they?
So first and ten ball at the 48.
Mitchell.
Wow.
That was a very dangerous play.
Didn't like the little stop route once again, which has been great for them tonight to lock it right there.
Didn't like it.
Where his knees down first.
Pull it and fell at the line of scrimmage.
I think close.
Yeah.
Nellie.
I think his knees were very close to being down, but I don't think they were.
So now second down and ten.
Once again showing pressure.
Wildcats out on the edge.
Creeping up there.
Dorian Mathis.
Six on the play clock.
Time winding down now to three.
They got a hustle.
Wow.
Stephenson got blown up on that play right there.
Nothing doing.
Jacob Marriott number 57.
Once again showing a lot of pressure.
Just too many bodies coming towards the ball.
Not able to break the line of scrimmage.
57 don't have him on our depth chart or the roster.
So obviously a jersey change right there.
Mitchell backpedaling, throwing off the hands of Lockett at the 41.
Dangerous situation.
Once again they're trying to make something happen.
Getting out of the sack.
Injury time out.
Our time-out.
Big Kayvon Thomas the left guard is down.
Kayvon Thomas probably the leader of that offensive line for Colquitt County.
He's got 25 pancake blocks.
That's probably how many pancakes he ate this morning at their breakfast every Friday morning.
Local church one a different church every week gives them breakfast.
I heard it's a I heard it's great.
We had an invitation.
We just weren't in town quick enough to get there.
Yeah, we're in South Georgia.
I know they're just something I would just probably ten or 12 of them down here myself, but Kavon Thomas, Katie, let's hope he he's their best lineman up front 6′3″, 283 senior the West Florida.
Yeah.
Committed to the D two power West Florida.
Looks like he's going to try to get up.
Hopefully that's good news.
They cannot afford to lose him.
Not looking good.
Can't put any weight on that left foot.
Left leg.
But the offensive linemen are tough.
Just tape it up right.
Yeah.
We just put a little tape on it but cut the tape off that have on and just retape it.
Just trying to walk it off.
A lot of weight.
When you twist your ankle, you.
Punting situation.
We haven't had many of those here tonight.
Walker Lanier punting for the second time.
Monstrous punt man.
That thing hits at the five batted back.
Did they save it?
They did great coverage on the punt by the Packers.
A tremendous punt by Walker Lanier, and they pinned the Wildcats back inside the five yard line.
Stepping aside here in the third quarter.

No need to be afraid of bugs.
716 to play here in the uh, pardon me.
449 to play here in the third quarter.
First down.
42 31 lead for Valdosta.
Ranked number five in the GPB seven a top ten.
Colquitt County right behind him at number seven in the Shahed.
Valdosta ranked number one in seven a. So this game is going to play a big role in shaping the seven a playoff bracket.
Believe it or not, the playoffs start four weeks from tonight.
Helmet comes off at the point of the tackle, so somebody's got to come off the field.
Short run by Fennell.
Greg Snap there to Finnell.
Looks like Austin Spray is going to have to leave for a play.
That's your center right there.
I mean Fennell has right at 150 yards rushing.
He has 106 yards receiving just an extraordinary effort by Marquis Fennell tonight.
Brody Coxon there, the young freshman at center here.
Direct snap goes to Fennell tries to clear the corner.
He's already got a 95 yard touchdown run tonight on a play just like that gets run out of bounds.
Great blocking by his offensive line right there.
Great job of getting out in front of him.
Kyree Turner once again the young sophomore tight end.
So first and ten ball sitting at the 16.
Dean a great Football Fridays in Georgia here in Moultrie tonight.
Region opener for the Wildcats.
Packers already 1-0 in the region.
Lowndes already 1-0 in the region.
PSR is really going to benefit region one.
In the past they would have only two teams with first round playoff games.
They're going to have maybe up to four or five with first round playoff games with the.
That's going to be a catch.
Another amazing catch by Mingo.
Back throw back shoulder throw here.
Domingo good job of adjusting.
Going down to the turf to grab that ball right there right at the end.
Knee is in bounds.
Great job.
Seven catches right back to the air.
They go this time short for Mingo in the middle.
But a flag out might have a d p I coming up here on Allen Brown.
Jaylen Brown trying to work through Mingo right here.
You can see Mingo going back to the ball running through the back of him right there.
Mingo is down here.
Hasn't got it.
Looks like a cramp.
Looking like that Austin spray out there trying to help him out with the cramp.
Officials.
Time out.
The injury.
Time out.
Mingo seven catches north of 150 here tonight.
Result of the play is defensive pass interference on Colquitt County.
15 yard penalty.
It'll be a first down.
Mingo gained some weight in the off season.
Really bounce back year as coach called him Pat man.
He came back to be the number one guy and really producing.
They had Prince Jean last year who's now at Kentucky, and he said, look, last year you were robbing and Prince Jean was Batman.
Now you've got to be Robin.
That means you're going to get the best coverage every play.
Are you ready for this?
And he's been delivering for them.
He's their number one receiver.
He's the guy.
As you can see that they always feed on for the big play.
He's had a big game.
So as for now I mean just the the the offensive numbers are just staggering for Valdosta tonight.
They're up to 550 yards of total offense.
And the hay isn't in the ball.
The game's not over.
I mean they haven't secured the victory yet.
That tells you just how crazy this game has been.
404 to play here in the third quarter.
Donnell going with the hard count.
Takes the direct snap.
Looking for a lane to run in and short yardage play right there.
Colquitt County doing a better job of sniffing that play out here in the second half.
Good job there.
Getting some penetration.
Nathan Jordan 51.
There getting in the backfield.
Just know where to go with that ball for for now.
Perry going to run it again.
This time there's Blythe going to throw him down.
We talked about this young man and the talent that he has this tremendous talent.
A college talent athlete that is coach just said he can keep him pointed in the right direction.
He can be a dominant player.
He's showing you that on both sides of the ball and in the special teams returning kicks.
He has been all over the place here for the Packers tonight.
Third down.
Perry pump fake.
Going to the sideline.
Jump ball and broken up.
Ball intended for Fennell right there.
And that's a great play by Allen Brown who had the DPI just a few moments ago.
Yeah Allen Brown step for step.
Never fooled right there.
Head around.
Almost coming up with that interception there.
Good job of knocking the ball out by Fennell.
Good job there by the young junior Brown.
And for the first time tonight if I'm not mistaken they have forced the Wildcats to punt the ball.
Kind of a stop the presses moment as they bring Fred Poole out to punt.
Poole is standing at the 40 to kick Gavin Henderson, who's one of the top punt returners in the state.
He's number six in the state in punt return average.
Very dangerous punt returner.
Standing deep, he'll get his first opportunity here tonight.
DeLay of game on the offense.
Five yard penalty still fourth down.
So let's see if they kick the ball at Henderson.
He would dearly love to get an opportunity here.
Henderson averaging 21 yards per punt return.
Can you imagine that Coach Felton is going to stay away.
This ball is going to go away from him in this situation.
Well it should, but you never know right?
You mentioned it Matt.
First time that this unit has been on the field today.
And right now two penalties in a row.
Execution.
False start on the offense.
Five yard penalty remains.
Fourth down.
Another thing you got to think about.
And we've seen the issues with them they've had in the kick return.
You know when you go three weeks without playing a live opponent you know that's something maybe gets lost in the shuffle a little bit.
When you're doing all your one on one, one on ones best versus best, maybe special teams don't get the attention that maybe they need kick.
Fair catch is called for.
Takes a bounce by King and Colquitt is jumping on top of Valdosta, jumping on top of the ball.
They thought it might have touched Colquitt.
I think they were able to avoid it, nicking them.
And so that's where the there's a flag down at the 49.
So let's check that call before we put the offense on the field.
Hold him on the receiving team.
Ten yard penalty.
It'll be first down.
Wow.
So ten yard penalty marked off from the spot of the ball.
That's going to push it back to inside the ten.
The nine.
And that's the one thing Colquitt County is.
Had pretty good field position all night long.
This will be the first time they're coming.
This this deep into their territory.
So they put it down at the ten.
First and ten for the Packers.
238 to play here in the third quarter and a 42 31 lead for Valdosta trying to stay unbeaten.
They're 6-0 Stevenson bounces off a man gets thrown forward on the tackle picks up maybe 5 yards on the play.
Nice job.
Miguel Henson the star backer making the tackle.
And this has been close all night long on those little inside red zones.
And see Blythe are going back in now.
Olivia direct snap to him.
Direct snap to Denham, Lewis or Blythe or it's going to be Blither Blythe trying to get around the edge.
And now they come up to meet him on defense.
Breaks out of those tackles.
Look at Blythe.
Blythe.
The beast picks up the first down.
Size on size.
Blythe on lemon.
Blythe powering his way.
Watch Lemon Zero come up and apply the hit right there, but Blythe just will not be denied showing you why his coach raves about his individual talent.
Looks like they have unleashed a new weapon here tonight on the offensive side.
Blythe has played a big role in what the Packers have been able to do offensively so far tonight, play clock is down to five.
Mitchell just going to heave it out of bounds.
Good job there taking away that little stop route that they have been having success to lock it coming up.
Taking that away once again forcing Kai Mitchell to have to make a decision that time.
Just throwing the ball away.
They were having trouble getting the right personnel on the play.
Snap the ball.
So Mitchell wisely got rid of it rather than take a loss on the play.
So 11 point lead, 120 to play here in the third quarter.
Second down and ten.
Mitchell fires over the heads of Henderson.
Right there.
It looks like miscommunication between Henderson and Lockett on the route tree right there.
Just kind of throwing it in the area was Mitchell.
So now third down and ten.
That's a couple of plays here in this possession in this series where they just don't seem like they're in sync right now.
Minute 16 to play in the third quarter.
Heavy rush coming off the edge.
Mitchell gets it out of there.
Jump ball incomplete flag comes out intended for Curry.
We're gonna have DPI here on Valdosta.
Mitchell just kind of throwing it up.
As you can see the defender running right into the chest of Curry right there.
Face guarding just not allowing him to make that play.
Not playing the ball just playing the.
And who was that downfield.
They had.
Defensive pass interference 15 yard penalty results in a first down.
Kai Mitchell is down on his back with a cramp.
Was that a 99 on the coverage.
Looks like a defensive.
What was going on.
Maybe a defensive end running down on.
But obvious face guard right there.
Not allowing the receiver to catch the ball.
And Kai Mitchell got to get back into this game.
As you can see 99.
They're out on the edge covering and just runs right into Orgbon Sean Curran.
Yeah you never want to see a 99 in coverage 30 yards downfield.
Has to keep 99 somewhere 7-10 yards of the ball.
That's.
And I don't have a 99 on my roster do you.
And he's not on our depth chart nor on our roster.
So they continue to stretch out.
Kai Mitchell over there at the 27 yard line.
So he's going to have to come out of the game.
Obviously.
You know obviously it looks like he can't continue anyway.
It looks like hopefully it's just a cramp and they can get him back in there.
He's a real Williams the sophomores warming up taking snaps from Jace Davis down on the sideline.
And Jabril Williams has hardly played at all.
He's one for one passing this season.
It's a man.
This is a tough spot to be coming in.
Fortunately, it looks like it's probably just a cramp situation, which does not necessarily means it's not serious, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's going to be able to get right back in.
This game.
Just depends on the severity of the cramp.
How quickly can you get back in?
Sometimes you can't.
And as he's walking to the sideline, it doesn't look like he's going to snap back.
The next play.
Looks like it's still kind of hampering him on that left side.
I think that's the misconception.
Sometimes people have that, you know the cramp, you have the cramp and then it goes away.
No, no, that's not the way it works.
That's the cramp start.
It's just can you manage it long enough to get through the game?
But as I always say, the water, all that stuff stops working at that point.
And now can Jabril Williams come in and such a big game and a big moment.
110 left here in the third quarter.
Yeah.
Williams 510, 170 sophomore.
So you bring Blythe back in.
So going to try to run that wild hog Wildcat kind of offense here.
This is a smart play right.
They're going to snap it to Blythe or Blythe just runs straight forward.
Physicality in which he's running the ball.
And you look up especially up front.
He's matching the size of most of this Valdosta team up front.
6′1″, 215 aggressive runner.
Looks like they're going to kind of go to that formation here for a couple of plays.
Keeping Blythe out there don't really see Jabril.
Now he's out.
He's out there.
He's they're lined up.
Well I thought he was but maybe not.
You're right.
They're going to hand it off.
They're going to snap it directly to Blythe.
Blythe shedding tackles big hole for Blythe inside the 20.
Touchdown Packers.
A Star is Born.
Great job blocking up front.
Watch how this hole opens on the left side right there.
A big hole and a big back.
Physical back.
The little stiff arm showing you the speed.
And as we talked about this young man Uber talented.
His coach raves about him how he's a next level D1 college type talent.
And he's showing you that tonight running the ball.
He's returned kicks.
He's made plays made tackles on defense.
And there with the big touchdown.
He has been amazing.
He has kept the Packers in the game here tonight, especially after Mitchell goes down with the injury.
Blythe breaks off a huge touchdown run.
It's 42-38 Amazing.
Laveris Blythe 6′1″, 215.
Junior.
As far as I could tell, he'd never had a varsity offensive snap.
I mean as far as running the ball until tonight.
Great job of faking as though he was going to keep it to the right.
Saw the hole to the left open up.
And then the speed right there to be able to take it that distance might have found him a new position.
I think.
So maybe a running back the rest of the season.
Wow.
They can't tackle him.
That's exactly what the Packers needed.
Somebody that it's been hard for Colquitt County to to tackle the Valdosta backs for a different reason because they're fast.
You just they're elusive.
This guy, he's just bowling over people.
Here's the kick goes a little bit deeper this time.
Going to kick into the end zone.
Get the touchback.
Bring it out to the 20.
And so now I mean all the momentum is now in favor of the Packers as they have pulled to within four.
21 seconds left here in this third quarter.
They.
See what Tripp Perry and his offense can get going.
He talked about it earlier that somebody might have to hit 60 to win this game.
And they're both high powered.
And Tripp Perry in this offense has to get back into a groove.
Get back to running the ball.
Get the ball to Darren Foster.
So first and ten final seconds of this third quarter.
And the game has turned dramatically.
And we're headed towards a possible shootout.
Last team with the ball wins.
Fourth quarter ball is thrown incomplete out there on the edge.
Going out there for Mingo.
And now that high powered offense doesn't seem so high powered anymore.
And the one thing I've noticed in the second half kind of getting away from just putting their hand in the dirt and running the ball right at Colquitt.
Back to the air again.
And this time caught by Fennell.
When all else fails, go to Fennell.
Right.
First down catch for Fennell.
9 seconds left in the third quarter.
He comes running out of the pack, helmet off for the play had been blown dead long ago.
Donnell had to leave the game for a play.
Looks like they're going to allow him to stay in.
Yeah, because he got it pulled off.
He got pulled off there at the end of the play.
I think that's what they were saying after the whistle was blown.
So first and ten after the completion to Fennell at the 36 yard line and the clock is running again.
And that was the final play of the third quarter.
We are headed towards a dramatic finish here in South Georgia.
Wow.
What a game for you on this.
GPB sports Football Fridays and Georgia.

As we head to the fourth quarter and a 42 38 lead for Valdosta.
Let's check in with.
Nelly was down over on the Valdosta sideline.
Shelton Felton went and talked to his defense and he said, just calm down.
Everything's fine.
But someone needs to make a play.
Heading into the fourth, we saw the dueling packer, jumping jacks and the cat jack, something that Shelton Felton brought with him from his time here in Moultrie.
Sean Calhoun said all he wanted was a chance to go into the fourth quarter.
He's got one down for Matt.
Indeed, Colquitt outscored Valdosta 21-7 in that third quarter.
Pass is complete.
The fennel.
Fennel.
And he just cannot be stopped.
Carney.
He's down to the 47 yard line.
Right now they're still playing that soft coverage, giving him five 8 yards to work with for trip to hit him.
Perry throws complete again to fennel.
Fennel just a yard or so on the play that time.
Second down.
Let's see how these two teams play it.
Do they.
Does.
Does Valdosta just keep coming at that with you at that killer speed.
Or do they start to slow play it a little bit and and use the clock a little bit?
Well there's the answer.
No.
Turner with the catch and run.
It's been.
A long.
That was foster.
Pardon me.
I thought it was six.
It was foster Tehran foster.
It's been a long time since we've seen Darren Foster touch the ball right there.
He kind of ran with that kind of aggression like, hey, don't forget about me.
Gets it again.
So the scary prospect for Colquitt County is that foster may be a little bit rested.
He scored three touchdowns in the first quarter.
He's kind of disappeared for a couple of quarters.
He might be rested.
That's a that's a bad sign for them.
Time-out's going to be called by Colquitt.
Time-out Crawford County.
So they take the time out.
So will we.
Opening minute of the fourth quarter.
Four point lead for Valdosta.

So coming out of the time-out, second down and one with the ball at the 20.
Valdosta just keeps coming at you.
Direct snap goes to Finley.
He's got the first down at the 15.
Both balls.
Their ability to make the first guy miss is what makes them so dangerous.
You can make that first guy initial guy miss.
There's three or four yards.
They continue to always pick up.
Ball is loose.
Donnell gets on top of it at the 23.
Miscommunication right there.
Both Perry and Fennell looked like they took off and was expecting the other one to.
For the ball to be snapped to neither one of them.
Taking the snap.
Second down.
17.
Perry in the pocket.
Clean pocket goes for the end zone.
Man down.
Flag out and have a d p I inside the five.
Fennell was the target.
He got taken down around the four.
Strong right here.
Corner just pushes him out of bounds right there.
As you can see.
Just blatantly right in front of the official just pushes him out of bounds.
Strong was their leading tackler through the first quarters of this game with six.
Pass interference on the defense.
Be half the distance to the goal.
Still second down.
When it's half the distance, that's not a bad penalty to take.
If you feel like you're going to get beat right.
Heavy packaging, extra offensive linemen.
The situation Jayvyn direct snap to the running back.
Let's see how they handle this.
Hand off instead goes to Derron Foster inside the five.
Foster still moving his feet and down to the two.
He has a first down.
Still running.
With that fresh vengeance.
Like y'all have forgotten me tonight.
I had a hot start in that first quarter, hasn't touched the ball a lot in the second half as foster and now showing again why he's such a dynamic back.
He's got over 80 yards rushing and he's just kind of like the secondary option tonight.
Goes back to him.
Got tripped up right away.
Great penetration on defense right there by Graham McKenzie.
Graham got in there and tripped him up.
So now it's going to be second down.
Great job right there.
Graham very well built.
I probably be a safety.
Strong safety.
His physicality and the way he loves to play downhill next level.
Got that Megamind Guardian cap on top of his helmet.
Hand off foster this time.
Gets by the defender and scores the touchdown.
Fourth touchdown of the night for Darren Foster.
Flag out pending the flag.
It's 48-38 but check the penalty call.
Colquitt signaling they feel like the penalty is on Valdosta.
Illegal formation on the offense.
Five yard penalty remains second down.
And erases the touchdown.
Going to bring it back out to the seven.
Second down and goal from there.
42 38 the score 932 left in regulation.
Valdosta 617 yards of total offense tonight.
And Adi still counting.
Foster quick to the end zone.
Touchdown.
And that is his fourth touchdown of the night.
Great job of blocking over there on the right side of the offensive line.
Big hole.
Once again showing you the nice pull there by Thompson for the kick out.
And a walk in for Darren Foster for his fourth touchdown of the night.
Wow.
We got some crazy numbers here.
Fennell is right at 300 yards of offense by himself rushing and receiving.
And foster has four touchdowns.
Kick was nearly blocked but it gets through the uprights.
And it's 49 38 9:26 to go.
Plot thickens here in Moultrie.

Colquitt Regional Urgent Care now open.
49.
38.
926.
Left in regulation here at Max Stadium in Moultrie.
They don't call it Wintersville for nothing.
Valdosta 24 state championships, obviously a state record six national championships, 43 region titles, 68 appearances in the state playoffs program started way back in 1913.
Just legendary stuff.
Valdosta, a name brand known across the nation and looking to get to 7-0 with a victory here tonight.
They have an 11 point lead with 9.5 minutes to play here in the region.
Open region opener for them.
Second game in the region for Colquitt.
They're already 1-0 in the region.
But this region is so Small with only five teams.
One loss makes it very difficult to win the region championship, at least outright.
Kick taken from the 15 by Henderson.
Henderson.
Forward to the 35.
Let's see if that's where they spot it.
Or maybe a little bit short of the 35.
And that's where the Packers go on offense.
So now you start counting possessions.
How many more possessions do you get in this game.
And you're down 11.
And it's Kai Mitchell back in the fold here as we saw in that last where they had to go to Wildcat.
A wild hog as they called it.
Let's see who comes out.
Looks like Kai Mitchell is coming out.
He's coming back out.
I would have Blythe out there to.
He has proved to be nearly unstoppable.
Running the ball tonight.
Swallowed up.
Short gain for Stevenson right there.
Valdosta's Jordan Foster to make the tackle.
Number ten.
Foster Lampkin right there with the penetration.
And now how much pace do you play with in this series.
Because you still gotta give your defense time to kind of stop Valdosta.
So don't want to waste too much time scoring here.
Yeah that's got to be a big part of the equation.
Well number one you got to score.
But your defense has to get a stop sometime.
Ball thrown overthrown flag out.
Curry was the target.
We're gonna have a DPI on Valdosta.
Right there.
Kendall McCormick just turning Curry just on a go route was Curry and getting turned by McCormick.
Got it.
Loves to play man to man.
Out on the edge right there.
Getting beat initially and grabbing the hip.
Defensive pass interference 15 yard penalty.
The result will be a first down.
With Kai Mitchell being a little with the cramps.
Yeah.
How much.
Pressure do you bring if you're Valdosta to test his ability?
We've seen and talked about him really getting out of 12-14 sacks.
But his ability to scramble.
But he is dealing with some cramps here.
Handoff goes to Stevenson and he gets cut down trying to pick up the first down right there.
Gets cut down by AJ Hill.
Once again we see them flipping putting the big bodies in there.
Mathis coming in extra.
Heavy formation.
They've had a lot of success.
Inside handoff.
Stevenson going to pick up the first down.
That was a direct snap.
To Ian Smith the sophomore running back who is one big dude.
And he handed off the ball to Stevenson.
He picks up the first down at the 35.
Very well executed for Smith's first time handling the ball here tonight.
You see Kai Mitchell back in the game.
Pressure coming.
Mitchell gets it out of there.
And it's going to be caught.
What a catch by Antoine Lockett.
Antoine Lockett what a catch.
Just lost the defender.
Really the only route to be thrown down the field.
Everybody else is blocking.
Great job adjusting to the ball over AJ Hill a one handed catch to bring it in and then get into the end zone.
AJ Hill you just got Mossed.
Wow what a catch.
Definitely would have made Randy Moss proud right there.
Just a good job fighting for the ball, keeping it alive until he could pull it in.
There is Lockett.
And now they're keeping the offense out here.
Yep.
Got to go for the two now.
So now they've kind of been behind that odd number all night.
Now is the time to go for the two to make it a field goal game.
If you can do it.
Kind of surprised they don't have Blythe in here to take a direct snap on this.
But instead they're going to run Mitchell, Mitchell and heavy traffic going to try to run away from the pass rush.
Looking throwing and broken up.
Seems to me that might have been a great place to have Blythe just run the ball, right.
It would have been.
Go back and watch this catch by Lockett again.
Just tremendous concentration by Lockett on the play to beat AJ Hill for the ball.
But they fell on the two point conversion.
So the lead stays at 54944.
Let's check in with Nelly.
Sean actually looked at me before that play and he says keep an eye out.
Something on the left hand side.
He called it and he looked at me when the completion was made.
And they go into the end zone and just gives me the stare and a wide grin from ear to ear.
He's locked in right now, over 755 to go, man.
Yeah, this is going to be a crazy finish.
49 44 now can Colquitt get that stop on Valdosta?
Does Valdosta keep playing?
Pedal to the metal or do they go into a little bit of a tempo, slow down tempo offense to try to kill some of the clock here and score?
I think that Rhoam with their slowdown tempo, they have those dynamic backs that seem to be able to make something big happen each time they touch it.
Kick nearly over the head of foster.
He goes back to catch it over his shoulder and foster going to run out of bounds at about the 24 yard line.
Back to Nelly.
What you got.
And it has to do with Mr.
Gandhi there in the Grandi when it comes to this offensive line that you've been watching tonight with Valdosta, what is it that makes them as special as they are?
We've seen that, yes, they have aircraft carriers out here, but they're pulling and it seems that they're just humming as one.
What have you seen tonight in this offensive line that's gotten them north of 600 yards.
They're both guards and tackles have the ability to pull.
And as you said, when you have this kind of size 275, two guys, three guys, over 300 pounds, uh, their ability to, to be able to get out on the edge in front of these backs who get kind of lost behind him have just been incredible.
So here we go, 49, 44 Wildcats the ball.
They got the lead.
7:51 to go in regulation.
Final.
He never runs out of energy.
So dynamic runs behind his pads.
The vision that he has he he almost it's like he's seeing the play develop before he gets to the next level right there to cut back Lane.
Injury time.
The ability to run through the tackles.
Always falling forward.
And we mentioned the size of these guys but they don't run at 18185.
The way they run physically, you would think they were about 2:10.
They're physical runners to be their size.
And as we said, very well built.
And he's right at 300 yards of offense tonight.
Just an extraordinary effort.
One of the greatest individual efforts we've ever seen in a regular season game on GPB.
GPB sports Football Fridays in Georgia, 140 receiving 157 running.
And Perry, he's no game manager.
He's at 3:76 passing.
He is wiping that off of his resume, headed to Washington and Lee.
But has total control of this offense.
Knows where he wants to go.
Smooth operation all night long for him.
First and ten Wildcats 40 1 yard line.
Foster.
First guy that hits him never gets him on the ground.
Now they did stop him for a short gain right there.
But the first contact never gets him on the ground.
Yeah great contact balance with both of these backs.
Their ability to take the contact, bounce off of it, find the next hole.
Second down.
Perry changing the play.
Total control of the offense.
Hand off.
Goes to funnel.
This time.
Funnel bottled up.
Going to bring up third down.
And this is a huge third down coming up for the Packers defense.
Haven't been in a lot of third and long situations here tonight.
Alston.
They're three for five on their third downs.
They've been breaking off so many big plays.
Got to watch out here.
Jamarion Mingo top of your screen one on one coverage out there against Luke Strong.
Play clock at seven.
Three.
They're going to have to burn a time out.
So they have to burn a very valuable time out.
Time-out.
Smokey by Valdosta.
Stepping aside as they step aside.
And a big third down coming back when we return.

Offense and the defense come back out on the field packed house here at Mack Tharpe Stadium in Moultrie.
It's been a fantastic GPB sports Football Fridays in Georgia, but we're not done yet.
With 5-49 left in regulation.
Third down.
Third down and six.
Pass complete.
It's going to be right there near the marker.
Let's see.
Did he get it?
That was Tyree Turner.
Tyree Turner the tight end.
Got the catch.
And the first down.
Big time catch and stretch by Turner to pick up the first down.
Nice job of Turner getting to the sticks making himself available.
Turning around for his quarterback.
Big first down right there to keep this drive alive with 5-35 left.
So now on the plus side of the 51st and ten from the 49.
Handoff to foster.
Gotta watch out for that guy.
Foster.
Might break it at any moment.
Just into the secondary into the second level.
Cleanly right there.
Always just one missed tackle away from making a foot race.
That was John Monte Lewis who made the tackle.
You're right.
I mean, if he misses that tackle it's like they're they're going to be there picking up the football in the end zone because he scored his fifth touchdown of the night.
He's got four tonight four touchdowns for him tonight over 300 yards of offense.
Trip Perry the quarterback coming up on 400 yards passing.
651 total yards of offense for Valdosta.
And they're not have not secured the victory yet.
Big time play right there on defense.
Nice penetration.
Mark Graham playing on the other side of the ball.
Good job getting to foster.
Before he could get to the sticks.
Kevin Graham they call him pee wee.
Big play for pee wee right now.
Now third down and one.
And we're coming up on 4 minutes left in regulation.
Third down here for Colquitt.
His first another first down.
Keeps the clock running.
Fennell got the first down and more.
Fennell still going all the way down to the 19 yard line.
Marquis Fennell.
The ability to start and stop the footwork right here.
Nothing there runs into his own man.
The shiftiness, the cut right there.
Not going to go out of bounds.
Fighting for the yards.
Committed to Stanford.
Long way from home.
First down and ten ball at the 17 yard line.
He's approaching 200 yards of rushing tonight with over 100 yards of receiving.
Foster hits the hole down to the 20, down to the ten.
Pardon me.
If you're Valdosta right here.
You're not necessarily trying to score here on this next play.
You're trying to pick up a first down and Wynn punch this in and basically make this the last possession of the game.
Try to put this game away right here with a touchdown.
They have a five point lead clock at 2:45 Second down and four.
Foster.
Another first down I believe at the seven.
And so now Colquitt is now in a place where they got to start thinking about burning time-outs.
They're going to have to call time out here.
Trying to save themselves some time.
It's getting to that point here.
Both teams have two time-outs remaining.
So first and goal to go at the seven.
Heavy set in.
Once again you know this balls are going to Fennell.
It does.
Fennell weaves his way down to the four.
Tevere young making that tackle.
And a time-out called by Colquitt County.
Time-out Colquitt County.
That will leave them with one.
What a great game.
It has been.
Two offenses, both over 500 yards total offense.
It's just wow.
Both teams total engaged.
Valdosta is at 6:89.
You would think at 6:89 they'd have the game in the bag, right?
It should be just it should have been a running clock.
When you talk about those kind of yardage.
But nope, it's a five point lead.
So Valdosta is now a buck 50 away from improving to 7-0 on the season.
Take a look at their remaining schedule.
They've got Camden County coming up next Friday night.
Lowndes the big one in Wintersville, the Wintersville Classic on October 30.
And if they do get the win here tonight, that shapes up as the game to play for the region championship in region one, since that will leave Lowndes and Valdosta is the only remaining unbeatens in the region.
Then Richmond Hill will wrap things up on November six.
You saw only five wins on there.
They had a forfeit win on there.
We didn't include that on the schedule, but they got that too.
So a 6-0 record trying to get to 7-0 here.
Trying to punch it in one more time.
Foster gets denied.
Does not get that fifth touchdown.
And another time out call by Colquitt County.
So Colquitt trying to keep things alive here there at 5-2 They are 1-0 in the region.
Loss here tonight does not eliminate them from winning the region championship just makes it a lot more difficult.
And they will not play again until October 30 when they have to go to Camden.
So they've got another long trip.
They already had the four hour trip to Richmond Hill last week, and now they got another four hour trip to Camden County coming up in a couple of weeks before they wrap up the regular season against Lowndes.
And that game against Lowndes will be right here at the Hog Pen.
If you're Valdosta here in this situation.
You just have everything.
Colquitt is out of time-outs, right?
145 on the clock.
Even if you don't get in here, you're talking about calling a time-out.
It's 50s left on the clock to either try to punch it in or go for a field goal.
But right here with no time-outs, you punch it in, game's over.
Yeah, yeah.
I don't think you're trying a field goal at any at any point, any junction here, because of the risk of the block and take back.
Under center here's Tripp Perry.
Old eye formation and foster ran right into Perry.
They didn't get in.
There was a collision there running the old eye formation right there.
It looked like Foster and Perry collided at the point of the handoff.
And now it's going to be fourth and goal from the one.
All right.
So just a little too close running into Perry.
You imagine that Coach Felton is going to run this clock down all the way before he calls a time-out.
Yeah.
So the play clock is at 17 and moving right now.
So they will not have to uh it'll be about 1 minute before they have to snap.
They'll probably call a time-out here.
Looking to go all the way down.
It's at three.
It's at two.
It's at one.
And there's the time-out.
So this is very interesting in that.
Time-out you got 1 minute and 2 seconds left in the game.
You got a fourth and goal go to go goal to go from the one Valdosta scores.
They practically put the game away.
Colquitt gets the stop here.
We're about to have a crazy last 60s of this game because Colquitt is going to need to go 99 yards and have no time-outs.
And if I'm Coach Felton, I'm an offensive based team.
I'm leaving it in the hands of my offense right here.
I'm going to turn around, give it to one of these great backs and punch it in and live and die.
On their ability to score here on the 1 yard line.
So 62 seconds left.
It's come down to this one play, perhaps to put the game away.
One play to perhaps keep yourself alive.
49 44 just a magnificent offensive display display by these two teams tonight.
699 total yards for Valdosta.
506 total yards for Colquitt.
And here we go.
Fourth and one.
Looks like he said yeah they got a. Got the field goal kicker out there.
Kicker out here.
That's interesting.
They're trying to make it an eight point game.
I'm really surprised they're doing this.
Garcia.
They get the kick up and the kick is good.
Really surprised they did that.
But it works out.
Gives them an eight point lead.
Very interesting decision.
Leaves the door open for Colquitt because now they're going to get the ball back.
Touchdown and two point conversion ties the game.
My offensive mind was thinking maybe Tripp Perry since he had shown under center, maybe a quarterback.
The tush push right there for the end zone.
Coach Felton is trusting his defense in this situation.
They can keep him out of the end zone here.
Want it to go in.
No time-outs.
So really surprised they did that.
But it is an eight point lead now.
Jon what do you got.
Listening to Shelton Felton in that huddle off of the time-out.
He was actually doing the math.
And he acknowledged that if they make the field goal, it would be eight.
But he reminded his offensive linemen in no uncertain terms that they were to get down as low as humanly possible to make sure that the block could not happen.
So they would be up eight.
And to your point, trust his defense here with the final minute on the clock.
What did you think, Nelly?
Were you surprised they went for the field goal there.
Oh boy.
I was considering we've been talking about this offensive line all night.
But you want but you don't want to go into a shotgun formation at the 1 yard line.
Have a bad snap happen and give them that many more yards.
So he opted for points and the confidence that his starting QB was going to be the holder and make sure that that steep angle was going to be made by the kicker.
It worked.
They got an eight point lead, 52 44.
Now they have 1 minute left in the game to keep Colquitt County out of the end zone.
So where's Colquitt County going to get it here?
And what kind of kick return can they get out of this?
Kicking away straight into the field.
Going to be taken at the 12.
King gets thrown backwards at the 27.
So Caden King with the return.
And so they're going to be 73 yards away with 50-3 0.1 seconds.
No time-outs either.
Ty Mitchell and his ability to get the ball to end one.
Lockett has been the key in the passing game.
We've also seen him be able to try to throw the ball up to Curry and Henderson.
Deep.
He has to be smart with his football.
Don't want to get in too much of that.
Scrambling around in the backfield.
Final minute here in Moultrie.
Mitchell steps up in the pocket.
He's across the line of scrimmage.
Going to have to run.
It gets out of bounds.
Stops the clock.
Gets out of bounds at the 33.
So stops the clock.
But they burn 7 seconds.
Talked about him cramping up there late in the game.
How much is that affecting him here.
Pass protection has been pretty decent, but his ability to get out of the sack has been key to why they've been able to throw the ball.
Second down.
Mitchell throws it down field.
It is caught at the 43 yard line.
Zacharia comes down with a big catch.
Now they get quickly back to the line of scrimmage with the clock still running.
It stopped long enough to move the chains and now it's moving again.
Mitchell looking downfield, throwing and incomplete stops the clock.
27.1 12 seconds.
Good decision right there.
Didn't have anything downfield.
Didn't want to waste time trying to wait for the play to develop.
Just threw it out of bounds.
Can you find a one on one matchup up top there to Antoine Lockett.
Number four.
We're now coming to the bottom of your screen.
Second down and 1,027.1 seconds left.
Can Colquitt pull this one out of the hat.
Going to have to run it across the 50 down to the 40.
Got to get down and get back to the line of scrimmage.
That'll that will stop the clock to move the chains.
Clock it.
Let's see if they clock it.
Nellie's calling for him to clock it.
They do right there.
They clock it.
That stops the clock with 18.2.
I'm keeping an eye on Sean through all of this.
So far in this two minute drill.
Hasn't found anything down the field.
Second down and ten.
Ball at the 40 18 seconds.
Mitchell fires and it's dropped.
Oh my goodness.
Ethan Ruffin was open.
Couldn't hold on to it.
Pat Ruffin running the seam route just threw it behind him a little.
He couldn't adjust to the ball right there.
Tough call as well.
Would have been in the middle of the field clock.
Would have had to get up, try to clock the ball once again.
And he got everything he runs, either got to be to the end zone or to the sidelines at this point or otherwise, you're going to run out of time.
Third down.
Mitchell looking to the sideline.
Heavy rush ball is out.
Valdosta has it.
They're going to win the game.
Jordan Foster recovers the fumble.
And Valdosta is going to get out of here with a 52 44 win.
Amir Carter once again with the pressure 57 coming underneath on a stunt.
Just hitting it with that left hand knocking it out.
Foster jumping onto the ball.
Big play by Amir Carter to force the fumble.
And in the rally.
And the folks to Valdosta get the drive home with a victory.
7-0 now for the Wildcats.
And 1-0 in the region.
This will no doubt do nothing to hurt and only solidify their number one ranking in the g ha7ap sr.
Shelton Felton gets to celebrate a victory over there on the sideline.
Number 48 is the head coach of the Wildcats.
What a thrilling night in Moultrie.
Shelton Felton, who was once on the staff here at Colquitt County, comes back and gets the victory as the Valdosta head coach.
Outstanding game on both sides, especially offensively.
So many big plays.
The ability to run the ball early on for Valdosta.
Kai Mitchell for Colquitt, his ability to scramble.
We saw the emergence of Blither coming in out of nowhere to be a dominant figure for the run game of the Packers as well.
Marquis panel.
200.
And what he did in every aspect of offense.
He had 204 yards of rushing and added 140 yards, receiving 344 total yards for Marquis Fennell.
Tonight.
And that's a number.
That's typically what you hope to get as an offense.
Yes.
On a good night.
He did.
That and he did that by himself.
By himself.
Amazing performances.
Tyran foster scored four touchdowns.
Tripp Perry throws for 382, had only five incompletions the entire night 20 for 25.
Kai Mitchell, you mentioned 287 through the air.
Another 95 on the ground.
So right at 380 yards of total offense for him.
Blythe, who as far as we could tell had never had a varsity carry in his career, six carries for 96 yards.
And a touchdown.
And a touchdown and a huge touchdown.
On top of that.
Antoine Lockett, nine catches for 173.
Jamari and Mingo seven catches for 172.
I mean just silly numbers.
Just the kind of numbers you would not expect to see on a Friday night in the state of Georgia.
But here tonight we did.
And a big victory for Valdosta.
Time now for Johnny's Pizza post game interview.
We'll send it down to Nellie.
And it was survived survival in this one.
Basically, it was survival.
We survive defensively.
We didn't play good, but we made a stop.
We needed to.
My offense.
Like I said, we score, score, score and those guys done a great job and I couldn't be more proud of.
When you go through all of this and all the ups and downs, you knew that they were going to have to steal some scores from you, but you challenged them in the fourth quarter.
Yes, I thought we talked about it.
Just play the game.
And just challenging and ups and downs.
We're going to keep our heads.
We keep fighting.
That's our motto.
We're going to keep fighting regardless what's going on.
And now you have time to rest.
You got to think about a couple hours.
We got 2 hours to get home on the campus.
So there's no rest.
And like I said, I'm proud of these kids.
We've seen all three weeks.
And what showed, I think it Wynn offense was clicking.
I could be very proud of him.
Congratulations.
This is a hot package.
Can I do two things for a hanger?
So, so what's happened to my beautiful wife?
Happy birthday, happy birthday.
And I want to see some shout out to my father, Larry.
He had surgery, couldn't be here and go.
Catch all those.
All right.
Hot tag.
All right.

King offensive line behind him.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah.
So what was it like with having having these guys?
They they did their thing tonight.
You go back and.
Watch that they did their thing.
Never count us out though.
You're undefeated.
No, no.
They doubted us.
Everybody doubted us.
Oh, don't go against this.
Don't go against.
That.
Let's go against you.
See?
Lesson from Georgia Cotton Commission player of the game.
Don't go against this.
This don't.
Go against this.

Against Valdosta.
Don't go against Marquis.

Georgia Cotton Commission player of the game.
The camo, which is rare.
He gets the rare hat and the towel.
Gentlemen, congratulations.
Big win.
Come on.
Sir.
Now, Wayne, how about that?
Just an extraordinary performance by Marquis Fennell tonight.
And this entire Valdosta team as they now improved to 7-0 on the season.
Yeah.
300 plus yards.
Total offense for just one man is just unheard of.
What a great job him.
And we came to see Fennell and Foster.
They delivered and Tripp Perry just had a great night.
Yeah.
Extraordinary effort by Valdosta tonight as they on the big stage here in the state of Georgia.

When you take your eyes off the road, you're not just putting your life in danger.
In fact, two out of three people killed in distracted driving crashes in Georgia were not the distracted driver.
It could have been this family, this college student, this little girl.
So when you're tempted to scroll, don't pick up.
Think.

You never know whose life you could save.

Georgia's 41 electric cooperatives are anything but static.
Since the flip of the first light switch, we continue to innovate as the demand for energy increases, MCs draw from a wide variety of resources to generate electricity, from natural gas to nuclear power and renewables, so that we can reliably power tomorrow.
We're harnessing the current to satisfy the future.

Summer really started.
Playing basketball like eighth grade.
She's done a lot of stuff on her own to be the type of player that she is today, and she's only going to get better.
She can shoot the three, she post up, she shoots the midrange.
Whatever I needed her to do, if she grabs the rebound and pushes all the way down the court, she can do that for us as well.
She's more than just a center for me.
She's a vocal leader on defense.
She's a vocal leader on offense.
She gets them where they're supposed to be.
She does exactly what you ask her to do to the best of her ability.
