Malcolm E. Nettingham was among the first Black military pilots during World War II

Malcolm E. Nettingham, 101, of Scotch Plains died on Sept. 14, 2020, but his legacy will live on. In a Veterans Day ceremony, Park Middle School was renamed Malcolm E. Nettingham Middle School in his honor. Nettingham was a member of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first Black military pilots in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II.
