My name is Catherine Meier I am a visual artist and I live and work on the North I live in Finland and I work in Grand Marais.

always, at the hear of everything I do, drawing is at the heart of what I make.

I have really good rendering ski And so that was maybe the thing that made me think I could be a because I could draw what I see.

and I think I like wor that evolves over a lot of time.

Like if it's too immediate I kind of check out and lose int I, like to have a lot of negativ I, like to have a lot of negativ in my work, and I have really fi So those two things together, I go outside, I go hiking, I sit and draw, I photograph, I sit on that sho and just look out at the lake.

that's what I do.

So I draw places that have, like meaning that I go to a lot or I'm always fascinated when I It just felt like you can't just look at a place and then draw a and have it have the sense of a because there has to be a sense that comes through knowing.

And I think that that is transmi in artwork.

I think you can tel if an artist has an understandin of what they're drawing whether it's a landscape or pers you know what have you like that sense of is important.
