Lawyers for city say new law invalidates the closure effort
Atlantic City’s needle exchange program will stay in place. According to Politico New Jersey, the city is abandoning the ongoing legal battle over the future of the facility that provides clean needles for drug users. Since it opened in 2007, the needle exchange is credited with helping to reduce HIV infections in the area by 50%.
