Senate passes bill to help veterans exposed to burn pits

After a number of delays and protests, the U.S. Senate voted Tuesday night to approve a bill that will expand health-care eligibility for service members who were exposed to toxic burn pits. These massive trash pits, up to an acre in size, were used to get rid of waste on U.S. military bases, predominantly in Afghanistan and Iraq.
