Camden residents say the illegal dumpsite has grown in recent years.
Community activists have been protesting over a five-story-high pile of contaminated dirt, construction debris and other waste that takes up about half a city block in Bergen Square. City officials confirm the illegal dumpsite is contaminated with cancer-causing toxic chemicals. According to the mayor's office, a cease-and-desist order was issued to the owners.
