The project is expected to create 600 jobs with priority going to Newark residents

A former public housing site in Newark will soon be the home of a $100 million film and television production studio. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center is collaborating with Lionsgate and The Studio Group to build a 15-acre facility with six sound stages in the South Ward where the Seth Boyden Housing project once stood. The property was abandoned in 2015 and demolished last February.
