LaMonica McIver indictment raises the stakes

Congress member said the charges are 'brazen attempt at political intimidation'

U.S. Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-10th) has been indicted on three federal charges related to a confrontation last month outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Newark. Announced Tuesday, the charges by New Jersey’s interim U.S. Attorney Alina Habba allege that McIver assaulted two federal immigration agents and interfered with their duties.
