NJ Transit approves plan to give riders a fare card by 2024

NJ Transit’s board of directors approved a plan this week to give riders a physical fare card by 2024. The board entered into a $2.5 million contract with a company to create the digital chip cards. They would work on both trains and buses, and travelers could buy and refill them at train stations and stores around the state.
