School districts pause LGBTQ+ parental notification policies

Over the last several weeks debates have heated up as some school districts attempted to implement parental notification policies that focus on the gender identity and expression of students. School administrators sent out letters to parents late last week that largely mirrored one another in them.
Both districts vehemently disagreed with the state's assessment that their policies are discriminatory or improper because they require parents to be notified if a child is changing their gender identity.
Or expression.
But the district's agreed at the request of a judge to hold off on fully implementing the new policies until the case is argued in court.
August 15th.
Meanwhile, officials in the Manalapan School District have requested to negotiate with Attorney General Matt Platkin's office and agree on a framework for their guidelines.
And Hanover's policy, that's the first school district to be legally pursued by the state, that remains paused.
The Attorney General filed civil rights complaints against all four districts, arguing the policies out LGBTQ students
