State police will now oversee regulatory and law enforcement duties, previously held by the Waterfront Commission, for the port of New Jersey. They're taking over after the U.S. Supreme Court awarded the state a victory in April – allowing New Jersey to withdraw unilaterally from the Waterfront Commission in a unanimous decision.
