Sue Altman, executive director of the Alliance, is considered to be a likely candidate to challenge Kean in 2024.

Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipProgressive groups are eyeing Republican Congressman Tom Kane Jr's seat rallying in Bridgewater today calling on the Freshman representative to host a town hall for constituents so they can directly ask him questions about his votes in Congress New Jersey Working Families Alliance led the demonstration executive director Sue Altman is widely considered to be a likely candidate to challenge Kane in 2024 the rally coincides with Kane's first 100 days in office he's been criticized by democrats for holding few public events during the election season Kane's office today pointed to the 34 bills he's so far sponsored or co-sponsored the hundreds of constituent cases resolved and the thousands to which he's responded election Finance reports out this week show Kane is out raising other members well known for their fundraising abilities just another indicator he's likely to be heavily targeted in the next election so we at Working Families Are working with almost I think 50 groups who signed on to a letter demanding Tom Kane hold the town hall and we're out here to demonstrate our support for that idea this is his job he was elected to represent this District here in cd7 and if he's not even going to bother to hold a town hall how is he even doing his job that said this organizing and this accountability for Tom Kane has to happen whether I'm running or somebody else is running I haven't made up my mind yet we have a long way to go but the most important thing is that Tom Kane listens to his constituents [Music]
