Joey Torres, former mayor of Paterson, says criminal contempt charges filed against him will not stop him from running for office. The state AG’s office filed charges against Torres late last week, citing his candidacy for mayor as the reason why. According to the AG’s office, his running for office is in violation of a court order Torres signed as part of his 2017 official misconduct conviction.
