"Peaches n’ Cream" was inspired by an old-school love for jazz and swing.
"Peaches n’ Cream" was inspired by an old-school love for jazz and swing. A friend once told me my music needed more snap, so I asked what he liked—turns out, he missed the golden era of scat singers like Ella Fitzgerald. Why not bring that vibe back? The phrase peaches n’ cream felt like the perfect fit—smooth, sweet, and made for dancing. That friend said it was best song I'd ever written.

For the writing and the idea of "Peaches n' Cream," well, first of all, I love that saying.
It just, you know, gives a good feeling.
And I have friends that some, you know, they don't care for my music.
I have this one guy that said, "You should put a little more snap in your music."
I started asking him, "Well, what do you like?"
"Oh, I like the old greats.
You know, the scat singers, Ella Fitzgerald, and you know, that stuff you just don't hear anymore so much."
And I started thinking, "Well, we can make that happen again, maybe," you know?
And I started thinking peaches n' cream and dancing.
And, you know, pictures come to me and words come with those pictures, and this just kind of came together.
And I recorded it a long time ago.
And you know how Facebook is, you can put things up there.
And he commented, "That's the best song you've ever written."
So he didn't know that I wrote it with inspiration from something that he had said.
But evidently, it worked, because that song, it became a song because of that idea.
