- Hi, my name is Lucas LaBeau.
I'm a keyboardist and music producer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I'm here with the wonderful John Stanford.
And today, we're gonna perform one of our originals, entitled, "You Looked My Way."
("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau) ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) (John vocalizing) (John continues vocalizing) ♪ Even in the morning ♪ ♪ Even late night ♪ ♪ Doin' all I can do ♪ ♪ Just to make it right ♪ ♪ You are my darlin' ♪ ♪ You are my queen ♪ ♪ This is a movie ♪ ♪ Now is the scene ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ I'm so glad to say ♪ ♪ Now I'm just thanking God ♪ ♪ Today is our day ♪ ♪ You're here to stay ♪ ♪ Thank God you looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ I'm so glad you came ♪ ♪ Now I'm just thanking God ♪ ♪ 'Cause today is our day ♪ ♪ You're here with me ♪ ♪ Thank God you looked my way ♪ ♪ Do you want breakfast ♪ ♪ On me ♪ ♪ Do you need money ♪ ♪ It's for free ♪ ♪ Everything you'll ever need ♪ ♪ I'll make sure it's right here with me ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ I'm so glad to say ♪ ♪ That today is our day ♪ ♪ And I'm so glad you looked my way ♪ (John vocalizing) ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) ♪ I said you looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way, yeah, way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way, oh ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way, yeah, oh ♪ ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) (John vocalizing) ♪ My way ♪ (John vocalizing) ♪ My way, my way, my way ♪ ♪ My, my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ My way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ (John vocalizing) ♪ My way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way, yay ♪ (John vocalizing) ♪ Oh, my way ♪ ♪ You looked my way ♪ ♪ My way, you ♪ ♪ My way, ay, ay, ♪ ♪ Ay, my way ♪ ("You Look My Way" by Lucas LaBeau continues) ♪ My way ♪ "You Looked My Way," that was an original me and John Stanford created about last summer, summer of 2024.
He had just come over one day to work on some music, and I had produced this track, and I was kind of going for like a Marvin Gaye like, you know, seventies soul music sound.
And we worked on that song ever since, and we've had that song in our bag.
And so, today we decided to play that song, and it's just our first work that we've created together.
So, I think it might be like the most comfortable thing we've done with each other.
And I think it's incredible, 'cause it shows that, it shows my creative input into the song with the chord progression and the way the song moves and the movements and everything, but also John, his melodies over it and the way he phrases things and his lyrics.
So, it's one of my favorite things that I've ever worked on with any artist.
