I'm James King.
In June of 2021, artist DonChristian Jones presented "Volvo Truck" at New York City's The Shed as part of their annual Open Call installation.
The original performance installation was an abstract and all-sensory experience inspired by the artist's youth in Philadelphia and his reverence for his mother and her four sisters.
This impressionistic performance has been expanded and reimagined specifically for ALL ARTS with newly shot footage and archival photos not seen at the original performance.
The resulting film is a kaleidoscope of sound and image and a unique examination of the artist's ancestry.
