Paterson's mayoral race inspires little voter enthusiasm

Mayor Andrew Sayegh, who was elected four years ago on third try, faces four challengers

Candidates are challenging Mayor Andre Sayegh on his record, with rates of violent crime in the city spiking in recent years. Two of the challengers face charges of voter fraud in a city that’s no stranger to political corruption. Sayegh won election four years ago on his third try. For a new mayor, he worked quickly to solidify his ties to the greater Democratic organization.
