Virginia voters cast the first ballots in the 2024 Presidential election.
Virginia began early in-person voting today. The commonwealth is one of the earliest states in the country to begin voting. Early in person voting lasts until the Saturday before election day.

Virginians are some of the first in the country to vote, and people were in line before the doors even opened at the Chesterfield Central Library Friday morning.
LAVERNE LUMZY: It's important for democracy.
It's important for women's rights.
All of the issues that are really important to Americans to maintain America.
RUDENE MERCER HAYNES: It made no sense to wait until November 5th to let my, my voice be heard.
BILL SLOAT: We've got to change the direction we've been in from the former president.
ADRIENNE HOAR McGIBBON: The county's general registrar and elections director said she expected strong turnout throughout the day.
MISSY VERA: I have said 2,300 today.
Day one.
But right now I'm looking at about 40 people.
The line, it looks like it's moving right along but we just opened the polls, so I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty more people as the day progresses.
ADRIENNE HOAR McGIBBON: October 15th is the last day to register to vote in Virginia.
