Virginia's SOL scores for the last school year showed slight increases across the board over the previous year, but the results are still coming in below pre-pandemic levels.
Governor Youngkin said there's still room for more improvement.
GLENN YOUNGKIN: A ship that was off course has been turned around and that we are seeing progress, but we will also say today that we have a long way to go.
BILLY SHIELDS: Youngkin is investing $400 million over three years in tutoring, and is also extending school hours to combat learning loss.
Dominion Energy is hoping to put a natural gas power plant at the site of the old Chesterfield coal plant.
Originally, it had been planned for a neighboring site.
Some county residents are asking leaders to reassess the zoning.
Dominion says it plans to hold public meetings on the change.
People facing eviction can take advantage of free resources through the Virginia Poverty Law Center and the Richmond Public Library through September.
Sessions are available at the East End branch on Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon at the Main Library on Wednesdays from 10 to 1 p.m., and at the Broad Rock branch Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. resources are available to all Virginians.
