This week, the state's nonpartisan oversight agency is recommending that Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao no longer oversees VCU Health.
This conclusion follows a study of the failed redevelopment of Richmond's Public Safety Building, which could cost the health system $80 million.
The agency recommends that VCU Health's CEO be the organization's top decision maker.
On Wednesday, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that the state will no longer follow California's clean car standards, which required all cars sold in the Commonwealth to be electric by 2035.
GLENN YOUNGKIN: The idea that unelected bureaucrats in California should be deciding for Virginians what car they drive, is wrong.
KEYRIS MANZANARES: Democrats have been quick to criticize Youngkins move saying the standards are already part of Virginia code.
And later this month, state lawmakers will be called back to Richmond for a special session.
Officials will be addressing recent cuts to the Virginia Military Survivors and Dependents Education Program, which historically has provided free college tuition to families of disabled veterans and those killed in action.
