On Thursday, Governor Glenn Youngkin repeated criticisms of the Democrat-led General Assembly budget during a community meeting in Chesterfield County.
Youngkin says he'll remove their digital sales tax because it doesn't include his proposed income tax cuts.
GLENN YOUNGKIN: When the sales tax increase and the electric bill increase are removed from the budget, we've got to then go to work and find places to decrease spending that they've included in the budget.
KEYRIS MANZANARES: Youngkin has until next month to finish his legislative review.
He's already vetoed about 30 bills.
In Henrico the overall crime rate has dropped by 7%.
That's according to the county's 2023 annual report.
But there's also been a 3% uptick in violent crime.
Police Chief Eric English says officers are being proactive and have already started to see an increase in firearm seizures.
Earlier this week, a lawsuit alleging the Commonwealth ignored its public health commitments by contributing to climate change was heard in the State Court of Appeals.
Young plaintiffs say problems like heat stroke and asthma have been caused or worsened by climate change.
In 2022 a Richmond Circuit Court judge tossed out the case.
