New Jersey is officially under a statewide drought watch, with no significant rainfall in the forecast. The state Department of Environmental Protection is urging residents and businesses to conserve water. The result of typically high summer demand combined with the ongoing dry spell, a drought watch is the first step before a full drought is declared.
