Autobiography of a Freedom Rider

On May 4th, 1961 - 13 black and white Freedom Riders boarded a Greyhound and Trailways bus. It was a challenge to segregation laws of the Deep South. That’s where federal laws prohibiting the segregation of interstate travel were ignored. What followed changed the course of American history. We discuss the Freedom Riders non-violence strategy with the author of the book Thomas Armstrong.
