Rubén Funkahuatl Guevara explains what it means to be a Chicano culture sculptor.

While on a pilgrimage to Palenque in Mexico 1974, Ruben Funkahautl Guevara grapples with his Mexican and American identities. He was neither one or the other, Guevara says. While contemplating his path in life, it dawns on him what “Chicano” meant, not an ethnic term, but a word used to describe an activist orientation.
