>> Yet another question will appear on Tuesday's ballot, asking Wisconsin voters to amend the state constitution requiring photo identification to vote.
State law already says voters must present a valid photo ID, and this ballot question would not change existing requirements but enshrine voter ID in the state constitution, making it more difficult for lawmakers to alter or undo.

Republican Representative Patrick Snyder says it's necessary to, quote, ensure that the people of Wisconsin have full confidence in the security and integrity of Wisconsin elections.
The ACLU of Wisconsin opposes the amendment, saying Wisconsin already has one of the strictest voter ID laws in the country, creating barriers for people to vote.
And that, quote, the legislature would be precluded from permitting additional categories of photo identification and ties the hands of the legislature to respond to future advancements
