We've seen seals, otters, and what I am convinced was a hot dog slug.
But I'm told it was a sea cucumber.
Let's go see if we can find some more animals.
Next step, we leave the David B, get on the skiff and head to land.
Okay, one of the coolest parts of exploring the Pacific Northwest is all of the wildlife t.. Look at this critter we just picked up.
Looks scary.
I'm a little intimidated here.
When you're out exploring, sometimes you run into big obstacles.
I think I got this one.
It's not just the animals that are cool.
The plants are too, look at that.
It's actually an orchid.
Okay, Christine, we've seen some small litt.. Can you tell me about some of the larger wildlife in the area?
Oh, yeah.
Depending upon which trip you wo.. Say we're up in Alaska, one of the things that we would see, is brown bears.
You see these coastal brown bears, and then, humpback whales are really, really common.
And not only do we see them, maybe a mom and a calf, but we'll also see, like, big groups of them together where they might be doing this thing called bubble net feeding.
And it's just this, like, beautiful ballet.
So that's something that we often get to see.
We sometimes see things like, bald eagles and ravens.
We'll see all sorts of different shorebirds.
We'll see seabirds.
And then once in a while, we'll see a wolf.
And that's always pretty exciting.
Yeah.
Is that your favorite sighting?
I think I think they are one of my favorite sightings.
Primarily because they, they're so elusive.
Yeah.
And so I've seen a handful of them, but yeah.
And it's been, it's always been exciting when we've seen them.
So cool.
Yeah.
Nice.
I'm Angela.
Thanks for exploring.
I'll see you.
