UW-Madison’s Michael Lihrman has emerged from obscurity to become an Olympic contender.
Michael Lihrman grew-up in Rice Lake, Wisconsin and has made a name for himself in a relatively unknown sport. He emerged from obscurity and burst onto the track and field scene in college first at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and then at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Michael holds the NCAA Division I record in the weight throw and is chasing a world-record and a bid at the Olympics.
