Next year is our 50th anniversary.
My name is Pat Hauslein.
I am the current historian for Women Anglers of Minnesota.
We're a 501c3 nonprofit and we support women and children in the sport of fishing.
Our goal is to create educational, safe and supportive environments to connect anglers of all ages, all experience levels, and have fun together.
About six ladies entered a muskie tournament.
and they decided we need to do more of this.
And so they went ahead and started the organization and we teach as much as we compete.
We have our big Open Water Tournament which is one of our premier events throughout the year.
It's June 6th.
It's going to be on Big Sandy this year.
And I'll be perfectly honest, a woman's competition is a whole lot different than a men's.
Somebody catches a fish nearby, youll hear everybody cheering for them.
We use Fish Donkey now, which is a mobile app.
It's CPR.
So catch photo release.
And so we're very proud that we, attend to the environmental needs as much as we can.
