Tunisha Brown joins us to share how the evening blends film, conversation and connection.
Hi Tunisha.
Thanks so much for being here.
So it's a groundbreaking town hall meeting actually around a subject people don't like to talk about.
So why don't you tell us about the evening?
- Sure.
So the evening is all about menopause, a subject that I know growing up my mom didn't talk about it.
The only thing she will always mention is praying it away, you know?
And she never complained of hot flashes or anything.
So now I'm in this stage, I'm like, "What?
What is happening?"
It's like the mental, the physical, the skin.
So considering I have the IMPACT Magazine and we're always doing events, I'm like, we need to put this together to begin the conversation because we don't talk about it as much on the mental wellbeing, on the weight and the skin, you know, and other aspects as far as like community, all of those things because it's all in one when you're dealing with the self of person.
- Right, and the film, I know you're gonna be showing clips of a PBS film.
- Yes.
- Yeah.
- "The M Factor."
- "The M Factor."
All right.
Yeah.
- Yes.
- And then the panel, you've got some really great panelists besides yourself.
So who else is on the panel?
- So we have a great friend and my doctor, Dr.
Erica Baiden, she'll be speaking on the physical aspect.
We have Dr.
William A. Smith, a renowned behavioral doctor, and we will be hosting the fire chat with him to speak on the behavioral side, the mental side of this because it's a lot.
And then we have Robin Huling to speak about the community aspect.
- Great.
Well, it's a great evening and a topic, as you say, that's not often discussed.
So, so glad you're doing it, and thanks for being here.
- Thanks for having me.
- And if you'd like to know more about that upcoming town hall with IMPACT Magazine and PBS Utah, it's called Unmuted: Mind.
