The Florida legislature recently passed a bill to override all county laws on fracking.
In response to a landowners request to drill an exploratory well, this week the Broward County Commission unanimously passed an ordinance banning the controversial practice of drilling for oil using chemicals, or fracking, in the Everglades. Now, a bill passed by the state legislature looks to supersede all South Florida counties’ control over fracking.
