First broadcast in Madison, Wisconsin in 1953, The Friendly Giant was one of the earliest children’s shows, moving quickly from radio to TV. In this episode, Friendly (Bob Homme) asks Jerome the Giraffe and Rusty the Rooster whether all barns are big and red. Friendly then reads "The Big Red Barn" by Margaret Wise Brown and then joins Jerome and Rusty in a rendition of "Old Macdonald Had A Farm".
