In light of the large increase in heroin overdoses in central Illinois, eight panelists address the issue of opiate addiction - the impact of painkillers as an introductory drug to heroin, drug courts, treatment programs including the use of methadone and suboxone, the shortage of funding for those treatments, police response to overdose calls and the use of Narcan.
