If you're looking to get td for the coronavirus, you ha choice between a rapid or standard Covid test.
The question is which one s more accate results when it comes to rapid tests, thers two types that can produce results in a matter of min.
Dr Michael Nathan of Arrow Primary here in Bethlehem explains.
One is a rapid antigen tes.
That's what a test is perfd on a little plastic card wa test strip andhat's the reagent in test strip reacs with the antigen of the vis that the sensitivity of tht test is a bit lower, meanif it comes back negative, ths a higher chance of that bea false negative.
Janai Norman says the rapiR test may be the more depene option of the two rapid tes that sensitivity specificis pretty high.
That one collects genetic material of the virus.
So it's pretty that one's pretty accurate.
He describes the rapid PCRs as a sped version of the standard molecular PCR tes, which takes a few days to t results.
Both of the PCR tests are e with a nasal or cheek swab, then can be analyzed on sir sent out to a lab for resu.
The rapid antigen test is s accurate than the molecular rapid molecular test or the rapid PCR test, he says.
No matter which test you choose, the most importantp is to give it some time afr exposure.
