Show up early at the runner check-in, get hydrated, and have a pre-run snack
Sign a waiver
The first 300 participants get a free PBS “retro logo” t-shirt
Get a map of the route (we’ll have markers, too)

Peter Sagal welcomes participants and leads the first wave down the trail
Groups of up to 50 will depart every five minutes

Join us for a Fun Run/Walk/Roll with @PeterSagal, host of NPR's Wait, Wait... Don’t Tell Me! and the upcoming PBS special CONSTITUTION USA

7:30 a.m.
Start/Finish Location: RunTex – 422. W. Riverside Dr. (cross street is South 1st Street)

8:00 a.m.
Peter Sagal welcomes participants and leads the first wave down the trail
Groups of up to 50 will depart every five minutes until 8:40 a.m.

Route:
The 4.2 mile route is a section of famous Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake.  Located in the heart of Austin, the trail is a lush, urban path that meanders along the water's edge and passes by skyscrapers, neighborhoods, ball fields and cultural attractions. With more than 1.5 million visits a year, the run, hike-and-bike trail is Austin's most recognized and popular recreational area.  But the Trail is more than a great pathway—it is a place where Austin thrives. For many citizens and visitors, it represents the best Austin has to offer: outdoor recreation, a scenic, natural environment, and a diverse, vibrant mix of people.

At the finish line:
We’ll have refreshments, pictures and a free copy of the U.S. Constitution for your reading pleasure!

Refreshments:
We will provide light refreshments for the first 300 people in attendance. This includes coffee, juice, bagels, muffins, and bananas pre-race, and breakfast tacos after you the finish line.

Fun Run ends at 9:30 a.m.; Event ends at 10 a.m.

Parking: Free parking will be available at Hooters (425 W. Riverside Dr.) and the One Texas Center (505 Barton Springs Rd.). If parking at Hooters, please park away from the restaurant and have your car removed by 10 a.m.

Items of note / Please read:

- The event is free
- No RSVP or registration required
- You must sign a waiver
- Shirts and refreshments limited to the first 300 people
- The trail will NOT be closed so please use caution and respect others on the trail
- This run is an informal group run and will not be timed
- There are water locations along route
- To get a t-shirt, you need to participate
- We’ll start and end the event in the same spot
- Rain or shine
- You do not have to have a SXSW badge to participate
- This is not an official SXSW or City of Austin event
- We’ll have restrooms onsite
- The event will be photographed and pictures will be shared widely without approval or compensation
- Pictures will be shared on Flickr
