Chicago is home to world-class theater, symphony, opera and contemporary music, and the birthplace of sketch comedy. But the setting for this art is an achievement in itself. The world’s first skyscrapers were built here, and many noteworthy buildings were designed by a who’s-who list of great architects: Frank Lloyd Wright, Mies van der Rohe, Renzo Piano and Frank Gehry, to name a few. This short film from WTTW highlights a new architect on the scene, MacArthur “Genius Award” winner Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects, highlighting her work style, current projects and early triumphs, including the award-winning Aqua skyscraper. Produced by WTTW.
