Watch PBS Arts from San Francisco on December 16 at 9pm EST.
Meet the principal dancers, choreographer John Neumeier, and composer Lera Auerbach of San Francisco Ballet's production of The Little Mermaid. Hamburg Ballet Director and Chief Choreographer John Neumeier also designed sets, costumes and lighting for this new interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen tale, which was recorded in San Francisco in May 2011. The interviews in this exhibit show how the show developed dramatically and creatively and explores how the performers learned to interpret the classic Hans Christian Andersen story through dance.
