Melissa Chiu sits down with Iranian-born visual artist and filmmaker Shirin Neshat. In the 1990s, Neshat made her mark in the art world with her intriguingly beautiful still images, “Women of Allah,” which combines photographs of Iranian women mixed with Persian calligraphy. She has just released her first feature film, Women without Men.
