In addition to winning top honors at prestigious regional and national competitions, they have been featured on local and national television and have appeared in numerous publications. In 2009 the orchestra won the World Record for the youngest orchestra ever recorded to perform at Carnegie Hall. Susan Pascale, founder and director, moved to California from New York in 2001. Upon arriving to South Pasadena with her children she discovered there was no orchestra for her then 2nd grade violinist to play in. So she took it upon herself to create one, first by volunteering to teach for free. Today her program has received local, national and international attention because of the young ages of the players and high quality of the playing. In 2005 she was honored as a hero on national TV for her work.
