State of the Union Hangout With the PBS NewsHour

Politics Editor Christina Bellantoni hosted a Google+ hangout during the 2012 State of the Union and the GOP response. Among the guests were Talking Points Memo reporter Evan McMorris-Santoro, Tufts history professor Peniel Joseph, Huffington Post reporter Jon Ward and University of New Hampshire historian Ellen Fitzpatrick.

President Barack Obama will deliver his 2012 State of the Union address at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The PBS NewsHour will air the address, the Republican response and analysis with New York Times columnist David Brooks and Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus, live from 9 to roughly 10 p.m. ET.

Before, during and after the speech, you can watch and talk with familiar faces from the NewsHour and analysts live on Google Plus.

We'll be hanging out behind-the-scenes in the newsroom and studio, and offering you the opportunity to ask questions and share your comments on Mr. Obama's SOTU.
