A new film by local filmmaker Malcolm DeSoto highlights efforts by artists Zuzka Sabata, Julie McNiel, and Janessa Johnsrude to bring the arts inside Pelican Bay’s prison walls. We interview the artists, preview portions of the film, and discuss the value of such pursuits in the rehabilitation of society’s forgotten men and women. The film features prisoners discussing and performing their work.
