She's a playwright from Houston, Texas, who first began questioning Willingham's conviction while corresponding with him between 1999 and 2004.

Hensley has been a sergeant with the Corsicana Police Department for more than 24 years. He worked as a homicide investigator on the Willingham case. Since then, Hensley has been trained in arson investigation.

A top fire science expert and chemist, he's been doing pro bono arson defense work for more than a decade. In February 2004, days before Willingham's execution, he submitted a report to Willingham's attorney stating the house fire was not arson.
