At first the commotion outside the Senate chamber sounded like a routine disturbance to the members inside, the kind of small-scale protest that often takes place at the Capitol. Then a Senate aide burst through a door into the chamber.

Loeffler concedes to Warnock in Georgia race

GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler, who was appointed to the position a year ago to replace outgoing Sen. Johnny Isakson, posted a video to social media Thursday evening saying that she had called Raphael Warnock to congratulate him.
