Nigeria’s president poised to win second term

With half the votes counted, President Muhammadu Buhari led the election by nearly 3.5 million votes.

Nigerians cast ballots in delayed election after explosions, gunfire

Nigerian officials began counting votes in its delayed election on Saturday, after gunfire and explosions started voting day, as President Muhammadu Buhari seeks a second term in Africa’s most populous nation.

Nigeria’s candidates blame each other in surprise vote delay

Nigeria’s top candidates on Saturday condemned the last-minute decision to delay the presidential election for a week until Feb. 23, blaming each other but appealing to Africa’s largest democracy for calm.
